Closure, a New York-based software startup building artificial intelligence agents for law enforcement agencies, is expanding its headcount with 11 open positions across engineering, infrastructure, deployment, and compliance.
Founded in 2024, the four-person company raised a $7 million seed round backed by BoxGroup, CRV, Alumni Ventures, and Y Combinator, where it participated in the W25 batch. Closure focuses on evidence analysis, building automated systems designed to process large volumes of investigative data and help detectives resolve investigations.
Palantir and Defense Backgrounds Behind the Platform
Closure was co-founded by Chief Executive Officer Aaron Zelinger and Chief Technology Officer Gilad Levy.
Zelinger spent six years at Palantir Technologies working in deployment and government operations before working at enterprise platform Arena. Levy brings a technical background split between defense and enterprise software, having spent six years in the Israeli Air Force as a pilot and cybersecurity specialist, followed by engineering and product roles at Spot.io, Microsoft, and data integration company Rivery.
Together, the founders are designing systems that mimic the operational patterns of enterprise defense software, pairing model capabilities directly with field workflows used by police departments and investigative units.
Expanding Core Engineering and Forward-Deployed Teams
The company is scaling its technical core to handle government security standards, strict data governance, and high-uptime production infrastructure. To establish its initial operational base, Closure is recruiting an Infrastructure Lead and a Founding Infrastructure Wizard (SRE), both offering $160,000 to $250,000.
Algorithmic development is led by a search for a Founding AI Engineer alongside a Member of Technical Staff. These roles focus on fine-tuning reasoning models, structuring unstructured case files, and integrating models directly into agency data pipelines.
Because working with police departments requires boots on the ground and tight feedback loops, Closure has borrowed Palantir's forward-deployed model. The company has open roles for a Forward-Deployed Product Manager and a Founding Forward-Deployed Engineer, who will manage integrations inside municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
To bridge technical systems with law enforcement protocols, Closure is also hiring a dedicated Law Enforcement Liason and a Tech Compliance Lead to oversee CJIS standards, chain-of-custody controls, and regulatory requirements.
