AlgoUniversity Expands Into AI Agent Systems as It Hires Across Engineering and Growth

AlgoUniversity is hiring across engineering, community operations, design, and business development as it expands its training infrastructure and develops autonomous AI platforms for technical learners. Backed by Y Combinator's S21 batch and Soma Capital, the 10-person Hyderabad-based education technology company offers live classes, industry-oriented software projects, and learning platforms designed to prepare students in India for engineering roles at major technology companies.

The startup's technology stack relies on Django, Docker, and React, and the engineering team is currently executing a cloud migration from Google Cloud Platform to AWS. Alongside its core curricula, the team is building AI agent harnesses and learning systems to support its expanding student community.

Engineering Roots and Curricular Focus

AlgoUniversity was founded in 2020 by Swapnil Daga and Manas Kumar Verma. Daga previously worked as a site reliability engineering intern at Google and as a software engineer at Apple after graduating from university. He directs the company's educational infrastructure after previously spending more than two years as a lead instructor across other education startups. Verma serves as chief executive officer, bringing a background as an ACM-ICPC regionalist, competitive programmer, and former quantitative trader at AlphaGrep in Singapore.

The company designs its curriculum around patterns in data structures, algorithms, and system design. In an AlgoUniversity interview, former student Guna outlined how the platform's structured problem-recognition framework helped him transition from an engineering role at Country Delight to an offer at Walmart with a 176 percent compensation increase.

In addition to its standard training pipelines, the company operates the Algo Tech Fellowship, a fully funded scholarship initiative aimed at first- and second-year university students across India. In a livestream covering the fellowship, team member Sarigama explained that the program covers DSA, competitive programming, generative AI, and scalable system projects for 200 selected fellows, backed by mentors from top engineering backgrounds and hackathon-winning teams.

Hiring Across AI Engineering, Growth, and Operations

The company's six open roles reflect an effort to build deeper software automation while expanding regional talent recruitment funnels.

For engineering, the company is hiring a Software Engineer (Fullstack/AI) - Work from Office based in Bengaluru. Reporting directly to the chief technology officer, the engineer will build AI agents, learning systems, and end-to-end platforms for both AlgoUniversity and Tensor School, launching and maintaining AI-agent harnesses for the student base.

The commercial and operational functions are scaling in Hyderabad. The company is recruiting for Community Growth & Partnerships to manage collaborations with universities and tech organizations while driving conversion funnels. Top-of-funnel lead generation is also supported by a Digital Marketing Specialist, who is responsible for executing campaigns across digital channels, and a Business Development Associate working with the founders to establish go-to-market strategies and engage prospective learners.

General management and creative functions round out the hiring slate. An intern for the CEO's Office will conduct market research, run competitive analyses, and test marketing initiatives under the founders. For product branding, AlgoUniversity is adding a remote or Hyderabad-based Visual Communication Designer to redesign websites and establish visual consistency across the product suite.
