Manager, Production (Precision Tube Fabrication)

MANAGER, PRODUCTION (PRECISION TUBE FABRICATION)

The Precision Tube Fabrication team is looking for a Production Manager to help lead our production operations. This is a fast-paced and high-volume manufacturing facility responsible for delivering finished fluid systems assemblies to our Falcon & Dragon customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Depending on the skillset and technical knowledge of the candidate, the scope of the production manager role will encompass the following:
  • Back End Area (proof & leak, cleaning, assembly, insulation, rework, bag & tag).
• Manage a staff of supervisors and 80+ employees across multiple shifts toward goals aligned to company targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Ensure a strong focus is placed on safety and achieve excellent safety performance with the team.
• Leverage quality metrics to continually improve the output of the team; play a leading role in ensuring root cause for quality issues are identified and appropriate improvement actions are put in place.
• Achieve cost targets by improving labor efficiency, eliminating rework/scrap drivers, and driving design for manufacturability improvements.
• Drive the team to achieve ambitious delivery targets that support the company’s launch manifest, while continuing to uphold high quality standards.
• Support the overall organization in the strategic planning of labor, equipment, facilities, and other resources.
• Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet volume production demand.
• Develop high-performing leaders and inspire a culture of excellence.
• Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
• Think creatively and question the status quo.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following industries: 
  • Engineering.
  • Manufacturing/production operations.
  • Supply chain management. 
  • Military operations. 
• 1+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or production role with direct reports.    

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
• 4+ years of experience within manufacturing operations
• A strong technical understanding and practical knowledge of fluid systems manufacturing processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, including production technicians, engineering, and the Executive level.
• Experience developing team performance metrics, setting targets, and driving production teams to achieve those targets.
• Able to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
• Highly motivated and team-oriented leader with strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams within the organization.
• Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated record of high-performance (rated 4/4 or above in previous review cycles).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work long hours and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. unassisted.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
$140,000.00 - $190,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
