R. Earl Storie

Mr. R. Earl Storie is a Managing General Partner at VenGrowth Asset Management Inc. He also serves as a Managing General Partner at VG Partners in the mezzgrowth team. Mr. Storie is also a Co-Founder of the firm and VenGrowth’s retail funds and manages the Vengrowth Investment Fund Inc. He is a Managing General Partner and Director at VenGrowth Traditional Industries Fund Inc. Mr. Storie is a Co-Founder, Managing General Partner, Director and Member of Investment Committee of VenGrowth (Retail) I and Director and Member of Investment Committee of VenGrowth (Retail) II. He has over 33 years experience in managing venture capital funds for institutional and individual investors. Since co-founding VenGrowth in 1982, Mr. Storie has been actively involved in managing many venture-backed companies both in the high-tech and special growth areas. Prior to VenGrowth, he was a President of TD Capital Group Ltd., and has held management positions with RoyNat Ltd., Deloitte and Touche, and General Electric. Mr. Storie serves as a Director of many VenGrowth investee companies including Spectra Securities Software Inc., Hyd-Mech Group Limited, Central Ontario Web Ltd, and Carter Group Canada Inc. He was a Director of Canada West Capital Inc. since 2000 and was a Member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Storie was a Director of Tri Link Resources Ltd. and ENSIS Management Inc. He has been a President and a Director of the Association of Canadian Venture Capital Companies, and has been active in venture capital industry related activities, including involvement with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Accounting Committee for venture capital companies and the venture capital Finance Committee of the Science Council of Canada. Mr. Storie is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He holds a B.Com in Finance from the University of British Columbia.
