David W. Ferguson

Mr. David W. Ferguson, also known as Dave, serves as Managing General Partner at VenGrowth Asset Management Inc (Also known as VenGrowth Private Equity Partners Inc). Mr. Ferguson serves as Managing Partner and Managing General Partner of VG Partners. Since July 1994, Mr. Ferguson served as a Managing Director at Vengrowth Capital Management. He served as Managing General Partner of VenGrowth (Retail) III Diversified Fund. Mr. Ferguson was Co-Founder, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Managing General Partner at VenGrowth (Retail) I. Mr. Ferguson is one of the four original founders of VG’s retail funds, and was one of the three partners on its operating committee responsible for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. With over 20 years of experience as a Venture Capitalist and as an Investment Banker, Mr. Ferguson routinely assists investee companies in obtaining required funding and has helped coach these venture-backed companies through their various growth phases. Many of VenGrowth's investments in companies he has overseen have been exited through successful acquisitions, such as the acquisition of LMDS Wireless Technologies Inc. and Last Mile Access Technologies by Alcatel, the sale of Changepoint Corporation to Compuware Corporation or have gone public, as was the case with Genesis Microchip Inc. He has also been involved in a number of successful Canadian companies and has assisted these companies to go on to complete initial public offerings, or to be acquired by larger, multinational companies. Mr. Ferguson was Co-Founder at a corporate finance firm. Earlier, he was a Member of the Corporate Finance Department at Nesbitt Thomson Deacon Inc. Mr. Ferguson serves as director of OCI Communications and Andaurex Industries. He routinely contributed his expertise in setting strategic direction, developing operating budgets, management recruiting and financing and exit strategies. He served as Director of VenGrowth (Retail) II since October 1999. He served as Director of VenGrowth (Retail) I since January 06, 2000. He served as a Director of Changepoint Corporation since October 1996. He served as Cogency Semiconductor Inc. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Ferguson also holds Bachelor's Degree from University of Manitoba in Commerce.
