Apps Software engineering forms the backbone of the team that supports customers enabling their new technology nodes. Defines the specific technical node strategy, drives understanding of customer requirements, analyses and solves complex on-product issues, defines and creates solutions and brings ideas for new products and/or services. Drives integration of the ASML products at the specific customer fabs, and generic rollout worldwide.


Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler Arizona, San Jose and San Diego California, Wilton Connecticut, and Hillsboro Oregon.


Role and responsibilities

Responsible for introducing BRION PWC/PWE software, new products, collecting input for the design, and reviewing documents to ensure customer requirements are met. Software Application Engineer is also involved in engineering evaluations of the products. Posts new system installation, visits customers or support via escalation with the goal to optimally fit products into the customer’s production process (with support of the internal BRION team) and fine-tune the product(s) for optimized performance. As a highly skilled communicator trains other software application engineers so that they can provide ongoing customer support. Supports the ASML customer(s) to achieve and maintain their on-product performance using the combined and optimized ASML portfolio that is integrated into the customer-specific (fab) environment.  Software   Application engineers work at the forefront of customer node development, integration and ramp towards high volume manufacturing and sustaining, the software application engineers are responsible to understand customer node requirements, solve complex on-product issues and define solutions, and integrate new products.

Working with AE PL’s, D&E and CS to execute Applications Projects with customers to provide solutions to reach the required on-product performance level, thereby enabling customers to meet their technical node requirements.

communicate effectively with ASML Marketing, anticipate customers' future needs and help align software product roadmaps with customer needs. Lead a small group of software application engineers through a project or through direct people management, be able to align tasks, schedule and provide tasks. Work on new customer business development and new customers on board.


Education and experience

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics sciences or Physical Sciences. Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of Experience. Masters Degree with 5+ years of experience. Phd Degree with 3+ years of experience.

Computational lithography & OPC software tools knowledge is required. Lithography knowledge is a plus. Require having background mask data preparation, physical design, lithography, and other wafer processing steps.  Previous experiences with direct customer interfaces are required. Having previous project management skills is a plus. Having previous leadership experience and team leading experience is a plus


Skills

Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills & software debugging skills. Must have software programing skills and scripting skills. Fluent in using Linux shells. Strong communication.  Ability to work effectively with other teams. Strong interpersonal skills.

Other information

  • This position is located on-site in Austin, TX. It requires an onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

  • A flexible workplace arrangement is available for remote work up to two days a week.

Responsibilities  

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$131,600-180,950

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
