Job Description

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer to help turn one of the most manual, fragmented financial processes that exist into software.

You’ll build across nearly the entire product: the flows that establish someone’s legal authority, find accounts and assets, generate court filings, move money, and give families and attorneys one place to manage an estate. You’ll work across the stack, from the underlying data model and backend logic to the interface someone uses to get something consequential done.

The product challenge is unusually hard. Estate settlement can span years, involve dozens of people and institutions, and combine legal rules, financial data, documents, permissions, and hundreds of changing details. Your job is to hide that complexity without losing any of the correctness underneath it.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, designer, and engineering team. There are very few layers here between seeing a hard problem and shipping the software that solves it.

What you’ll build

  • Turn estate settlement into software: take processes that still run through PDFs, faxes, phone calls, spreadsheets, and government portals and build the product that replaces them
  • One estate, two products: build the family and attorney experiences on the same underlying record, with different permissions, workflows, and interfaces
  • Software that produces real-world outcomes: generate court filings, establish legal authority, find financial accounts, move assets, and track an estate through completion
  • Long-running, stateful workflows: design systems that stay coherent across months of documents, payments, approvals, changing data, multiple users, and institutional dependencies
  • The tools that become the product: work closely with operations to identify what humans are doing manually, build the internal tooling first, then automate it for every family

This isn’t another B2B SaaS company. We work directly with families and see the impact of what we build firsthand. Your code can help a family find what someone left behind, navigate stressful financial and legal decisions, and ultimately receive the assets meant for them. You’ll do it while helping create an entirely new category of software for the largest wealth transfer in history.

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ve built from zero to one. You’ve been early at a startup, taken ambitious products from idea to production, and are at your best when there isn’t already a playbook
  • You’re genuinely full stack. You can move from a React interface to backend logic to the underlying data model, and you care as much about how the product feels as how the system works
  • Your craft bar is extremely high. You sweat the details, make the shipped product indistinguishable from the spec, and don’t accept “technically works” as finished
  • You’ve built software with real complexity underneath it. Long-running workflows, sensitive data, payments, permissions, multiple users, and state that has to remain correct over time are problems you want to solve
  • You want ownership, not territory. You move fast, seek direct feedback, have strong opinions without needing to win the argument, and want your work to matter far beyond the code you ship

How we work

We’re small, fast, and close to the people using what we build. Product decisions can start with a family conversation, a rejected filing, an institutional edge case, or something we had to do manually that software should absorb next.

Everyone here owns outcomes, not tickets. We communicate directly, move quickly, and care deeply about impact and getting the details right.
