Titan Expands New York Engineering and Advisory Ranks to Scale Active Wealth Platform

By Zero G Talent•

Titan is expanding its New York team across software engineering, private wealth advisory, and marketing. Founded in 2017 and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Scribble, and South Park Commons, the wealth management platform currently employs 40 people and has 12 open roles based at its Manhattan headquarters.

The firm builds an actively managed investing platform aimed at younger retail investors and modern professionals. Rather than focusing purely on passive index funds or self-directed trading, Titan manages capital through proprietary investment strategies, alternative assets, and advisory services delivered directly over mobile devices.

Active Wealth Management on Mobile

Titan operates as an SEC-registered investment adviser designed to bring institutional-style portfolio management to individuals. Users deposit capital through a mobile application, where funds are allocated across curated strategies in equities, cryptocurrency, and alternative assets. Unlike traditional mutual funds, Titan accounts hold fractional shares of underlying assets, giving clients direct ownership and transparency into portfolio changes.

Over the past several years, the company has added third-party institutional strategies and alternative asset vehicles. As reported by InvestmentNews, Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment Management partnered with Titan to offer the ARK Venture Fund to retail investors, providing exposure to private and public technology companies with a $500 minimum investment. Titan had previously rolled out an actively managed crypto strategy, as noted by Business Wire, followed by private credit and real estate allocations.

According to PR Newswire, Titan introduced a membership model featuring Titan Access, which couples personalized portfolio management with priority advisory support and an on-demand lifestyle concierge team operated over SMS.

Founders and Architecture

The company was founded by Clayton Gardner, Joe Percoco, and Chief Technology Officer Max Bernardy. After participating in the Y Combinator Summer 2018 batch, Titan closed a $58 million Series B round led by Andreessen Horowitz in 2021, bringing its total equity capital raised to $75 million, as reported by Crunchbase News.

Titan builds on a unified JavaScript and TypeScript stack. The architecture uses MongoDB at the data layer, Node.js and TypeScript services on the backend, and React Native for client applications on web and mobile. The engineering organization builds systems that execute portfolio rebalancing, trade management, real-time client reporting, and direct communications between investment teams and account holders.

Hiring Priorities Across Technical and Advisory Teams

Titan's current hiring slate focuses heavily on infrastructure engineering and personal advisory functions to support its expanded service tiers.

On the technical side, the company is recruiting experienced systems builders, including a Principal Backend / Infrastructure Engineer – TypeScript and a Senior Full Stack Engineer – Web & Mobile. These engineers work on platform reliability, core transaction mechanics, and frontend interactions across mobile and web interfaces. Salaries for engineering leads reach up to $275,000.

To power its high-touch advisory model, the company is staffing three tiers of wealth advisors: an entry-level Wealth Advisor, Associate, a mid-level Wealth Advisor, VP, and a senior Wealth Advisor, SVP, who will provide financial guidance directly to members. The business is also scaling member acquisition and creative branding with hires such as a Founding Growth Lead, Paid Marketing and a Brand Designer.

All open positions require onsite work in New York.
