Soraban Launches Prepare Workspace Following Series A Led by Altos Ventures

By Zero G Talent•

Soraban, a Tempe, Arizona-based startup developing administrative AI software for accounting firms, announced Prepare in June 2026 to automate workpaper organization and leadsheet generation. According to PR Newswire, the product organizes source documents upon upload, populates leadsheets with links to original documents, and flags items such as missing carryovers, duplicate entries, and foreign accounts.

The feature launch follows a Series A funding round closed in August 2025 led by Altos Ventures, as reported by Yahoo Finance. Soraban's platform integrates into tax software environments including UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, and CCH to automate intake coordination, document collection, workpaper preparation, and client delivery.

Automating the Unbillable Back Office

Soraban was founded in 2021 by CEO Enoch Ko, who brings a background as a software engineer and tax accountant. Ko established the company to address manual client data intake and repetitive data entry that eat up billable accounting hours.

As reported by Citybiz, unbillable administrative tasks consume between 40% and 60% of an accounting firm's workweek. Soraban's internal research published in Macau Business showed that administrative tasks such as file sorting, renaming, client follow-ups, and document validation spend 30 minutes to one hour per tax return.

"Accounting firms aren't drowning in work, they're drowning in admin," said Cathy Anderson, investor at Altos Ventures, in a statement to Citybiz. "Soraban doesn't just automate tasks; it rebuilds the back office from the client's point of view."

By May 2026, the platform had supported over 500 accounting firms across six tax seasons. Customers using the platform report administrative workload reductions between 30% and 50%.
