Claim Health Raises $4.4M Seed to Automate Post-Acute Revenue Operations
Claim Health, a New York-based startup building AI-native revenue infrastructure for post-acute care, announced a $4.4 million Seed funding round led by Maverick Ventures. The financing, reported by Business Wire, includes participation from Peak XV, Y Combinator, Digital Health Venture Partners (DHVP), and C-suite executives at post-acute care providers. After participating in Y Combinator’s Spring 2025 batch, the company grew revenue 30-fold in under a year.
What Claim Health Builds
Across the United States, roughly 68,000 post-acute care providers—including home health, hospice, and personal care agencies—manage increasing patient referral volumes alongside rising payer complexity and administrative overhead. Traditional operations often rely on manual faxed referrals, spreadsheet tracking, and manual authorization processes that lead to revenue leakage.
Claim Health replaces manual workflows with an automated revenue operations system. Its software handles referral intake, eligibility verification, authorization management, and payment reconciliation without requiring paper files or portal navigation.
The engineering team builds on a stack that uses TypeScript, Node.js, and tRPC for backend services, React with Tailwind for user interfaces, and Mastra alongside custom agents for autonomous workflows. These systems use LLMs and Voice AI to parse unstructured healthcare documentation, map payer rules, and automate complex reimbursement steps across human, API, and UI layers. Early users, including Ascend Health and Interim HealthCare, report cutting administrative workloads by more than 50 percent and reducing preventable claim denials by 30 to 50 percent.
Executive Leadership
Claim Health was founded in 2025 by Chief Executive Officer Kevin Calcado and Chief Technology Officer Jayen Ram.
Both founders previously built healthcare software at dental technology company Dandy, where Calcado served as a founding sales leader and Ram was an early engineering hire. Calcado has led go-to-market teams across healthcare and technology as Senior Vice President of Revenue, while Ram brings engineering experience as a four-time startup veteran spanning healthtech, construction tech, and document AI.
