
Part-Time Content Creator / Video Editor Contractor
Job Description
We’re looking for a part-time contractor to help create short-form ad content for our Parva product. Parva is a mental healthcare company and provides patients with continuous cognitive care in between clinician visits. This person will shoot and edit compelling, high-quality video content for paid social, organic social, and other digital marketing channels.
The ideal contractor is based in New York City or the surrounding area and is comfortable working independently across both production and post-production. Prior healthcare or mental health experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into short-form video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Meta, and other paid social channels.
- Shoot video content on-site in New York as needed, including founder-led content, talking-head videos, patient or clinician-style storytelling, lifestyle footage, and other ad concepts.
- Edit raw footage into polished, performance-oriented ads with strong pacing, captions, hooks, transitions, and platform-appropriate formatting.
- Collaborate directly with the founder to execute branding vision.
- Adapt content into multiple variations for testing, including different hooks, cuts, captions, lengths, and formats.
- Ensure final content feels warm, trustworthy, modern, and aligned with the tone of a mental healthcare brand.
- Stay aware of trends in short-form video, creator-led ads, and direct-response social content.
Qualifications
- Based in New York City or able to travel to NYC for shoots.
- Strong shooting and editing skills, with a portfolio or examples of short-form video content.
- Comfortable filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, iPhone, lighting, audio equipment, or a lean creator-style production setup.
- Proficiency in editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar.
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, framing, and what performs well in social-first video.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and turn around edits quickly.
- Comfortable taking feedback and producing multiple versions of the same concept.
- No prior healthcare or mental healthcare experience required.
Nice to Have
- Experience creating ads or organic content for consumer brands, startups, wellness brands, healthcare-adjacent companies, or creator-led campaigns.
- Experience editing paid social ads with direct-response hooks and clear calls to action.
- Experience working at a venture-backed startup.
Interview Process
The interview process will consist of
- A portfolio review (around 1 day)
- If we like the portfolio, we’ll go to a 15-minute online screening
- If we like you online, we’ll invite you for coffee in Brooklyn.
- If we like you in person, we’ll give you an initial task: editing a basic ad (We’ll pay you for the time you spend on this)
- If we like the ad, we’ll extend an initial offer.
