The Antenna Systems Department is engaged in modeling & simulation along with prototyping & testbed development. The range of work includes CubeSat antenna systems, ground station support, spacecraft antenna design & modeling, construction of prototypes and pattern measurements in our anechoic chambers. We help our government customers execute missions of national interest and define future missions. We work closely with our colleagues to develop software defined radio (SDR) communication systems (transmitter & receivers), and RF systems in support of prototyping and customer developments. We are looking for a Technical Specialist to oversee our laboratories and assist staff in making measurements and building prototypes.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in El Segundo, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
Join the Antenna Systems Department in a technical support role where you will work both independently and as a member of project teams
Oversee successful operation of our labs including maintenance of antenna measurement systems, managing chemical inventory and addressing safety issues
Manage high-value test equipment including inventory, calibration, repair and disposal
Assist staff in building and/or measuring antennas
Build and test wire harnesses and RF systems
Play a major role in managing laboratory moves in conjunction with campus consolidation
What You Need to be Successful – Technical Specialist – Electronics II
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent minimum of 4 years in a vocational trade school or apprenticeship program
This position requires an active security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
Application of electrical equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and/or similar equipment
Experience working with laboratory safety protocols
Ability to use machine tools such as drill press, band saw, and/or other mechanical hand tools needed in the fabrication of electrical assemblies and test components
Circuit assembly and fabrication skills: soldering, packaged component attachment, operation of circuit board fabrication machines, 3-D printers
Customer service orientation
Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
Must work well in a team environment
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Hands-on experience with Sunflower or comparable database solutions
Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, and/or budgeting
Demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
Experience handling hazardous waste
Have a P-Card

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
