Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) — Bengaluru

$30,000 to $55,000 USD per year + 0.05% to 0.5% equity. Full-time, in person in Bengaluru.

We're hiring an engineer to take responsibility for a customer's implementation, from figuring out what they need to getting it working in production. That includes writing code and working through the disagreements and decisions that can hold a project up.

You'll get to know the customer's business well enough to spot where Lab0 could help next, then work with the founders to grow the account.

About Lab0

We build AI agents that help software companies and systems integrators implement enterprise software. The work spans Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Adobe Experience Manager, and Workday.

Customer projects also tell us what to build into Lab0. When the same work comes up again, we want to turn it into an agent or tool the next team can use.

The work

• Agree with the customer on what success looks like. Scope the project and stay responsible through go-live, until their team is using what you've built.
• Configure platforms, write integrations, migrate data, and test the whole workflow. Use AI agents throughout the work, check their output, and debug the failures.
• Understand who makes decisions, who controls the budget, and whose support matters. Work through objections and competing priorities with the people involved.
• Build relationships beyond your first sponsor. Find other teams we can help, give your champions a clear case to take to their colleagues, and work with the founders on the next engagement.
• Build reusable agents, connectors, and tests from what you learn. Help decide which customer problems belong on our product roadmap.

For example, you might connect an approval workflow across ServiceNow and SAP, work through a disagreement between IT and finance, and help your sponsor get another business unit on board.

Working here

You'll work directly with the founders and make decisions that affect both delivery and the customer relationship. You'll see whether the software gets used and how a successful project leads to more business.

The role gives you practice in technical leadership and running customer engagements, which is useful if you want to lead a team or start a company. You'll also help build the product that does more of the implementation work over time.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years in engineering, technical consulting, solutions engineering, or enterprise implementation. We want to hear about systems you personally shipped.
• Strong coding and debugging skills, including work with APIs, databases, and integrations. You use AI tools regularly and test what they produce.
• Comfort with organizational politics. You can handle disagreement, earn people's trust, and get a decision when a project is stuck.
• An interest in the customer's business and where our work could make a difference.

Consulting or systems integration experience is welcome. Experience with one or more of the platforms above will help; you'll learn the others as the work requires.
