We are looking to add a Material Handler I to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about supporting manufacturing, repair, and rework for an exciting product line of satellite communications equipment, we would like to hear from you.
In this position, you will support inventory and warehouse operations by receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting materials that support manufacturing, production, and business operations. This role contributes to operational efficiency by maintaining accurate inventory transactions, organizing warehouse inventory, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules and customer requirements.
Working closely with supply chain, operations, manufacturing, quality, and program management, this role supports inventory control, material movement, warehouse organization, and shipping and receiving activities while ensuring compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive, inspect, store, and issue materials in accordance with established warehouse procedures.
Move materials between warehouse, production, and storage locations using appropriate material handling equipment.
Maintain inventory accuracy by completing inventory transactions and documenting material movement.
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
Organize warehouse inventory to promote efficient storage, retrieval, and material flow.
Prepare materials for production, shipment, or storage in accordance with established procedures.
Support shipping, receiving, packaging, labeling, and material identification activities.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse work areas.
Accurately record inventory transactions using warehouse management systems or ERP applications.
Identify inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or material shortages and notify appropriate personnel.
Support inventory accuracy initiatives and warehouse process improvements.
Follow established inventory control procedures and quality requirements.
Support daily warehouse operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Build productive working relationships with Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management personnel.
Maintain warehouse documentation and inventory records.
Contribute to continuous improvement of warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and material handling processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Less than a year of experience working as a material handler.
High school diploma or GED.
Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling, inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes.
Foundational understanding of material identification, inventory accuracy, storage locations, stock rotation, and material movement practices.
Familiarity with receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, staging, material issuance, and inventory transaction processes.
Understanding of part numbers, quantities, lot and serial number traceability, shelf-life materials, and inventory labeling requirements.
Basic knowledge of material handling, packaging, storage, and preservation practices used to protect parts and materials from damage or contamination.
Familiarity with warehouse safety, material handling equipment, inventory documentation, and established procedures supporting accurate material flow.
Ability to lift heavy materials.
Data entry skills and the ability to read and analyze information.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous stock or inventory experience.
Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
