Our mission

Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 110+ million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and rewarding. Boom is building a suite of rental financial services for renters and property managers, including applicant underwriting, rent payment reporting, rent reporting-as-a-service, and a number of integrations with the largest property management systems (PMS). Boom serves renters through the Boom App and property managers via the Boom Platform. Boom is led by second-time founder Rob Whiting (ex-BCG, Rubicon). We’re backed by tier one investors including Starting Line, Clocktower Ventures, Mischief VC (CEO of Plaid Zach Perret's fund), Gilgamesh Ventures (Petal co-founders), and angels such as William Hockey (CEO of Column, founder/former CTO of Plaid) and Harry Stebbings. Boom has been profiled by Inman, Business Insider, HousingWire, and more.

Opportunity

The Senior BDR owns the top of Boom's funnel. You'll run the outbound motion into property managers, operators, and ownership groups, from list to first meeting to a clean handoff. This is not a seat where you work someone else's cadence: you'll partner with AEs, GTM Leadership, and our Marketing team to craft an outbound & inbound strategy.

The BDR team also represents Boom’s talent development pipeline. As Boom adds BDRs, you’ll be setting the standard, mentoring teammates, and moving into AE roles after merit-based promotions.

What you'll do

  • Outbound prospecting: Identify and engage property managers, operators, and ownership groups through calls, email, LinkedIn, and industry events

  • Pipeline generation: Own a monthly qualified-meeting number and the activity math behind it

  • Segment strategy: Collaborate with AEs to build target account lists across SFR, MFH, and Multifamily; prioritize by firmographic, technographic, & psychographic signals.

  • Messaging and testing: Write and iterate sequences for BoomCRM, BoomScreen, and BoomReport; run structured tests on subject lines, value props, and channel mix.

  • Multi-threading: Work past the first contact into the operations, leasing, and finance stakeholders who actually decide — especially on larger ownership groups

  • Inbound qualification: Respond fast to marketing leads and qualify on fit, need, and timing.

  • Events: Work conferences and regional apartment association events. You will pre-book meetings, work the floor, and run disciplined follow-up afterward.

  • Handoff quality: Deliver AEs context they can use: pain, current stack, stakeholders, next step. We don’t just throw things over the fence and hope for the best.

  • CRM discipline: Keep Attio accurate and current; treat data hygiene as part of the job, not paperwork after it

  • Peer coaching: Review calls and sequences with newer reps, and help build the onboarding path for the SDRs who follow you

What you'll need

  • ~1 year + of SDR/BDR experience in B2B SaaS, with proven outbound ownership (not inbound-only)

  • A track record of consistently hitting or beating a meetings-set quota, with the numbers to back it

  • Strong phone chops: you are comfortable making dials and setting demos

  • Self-direction in an environment where the playbook is still being written, and the judgment to know when to ask

  • Proficiency with a modern prospecting stack (CRM, sequencer, data/enrichment tooling)

  • Extreme attention to detail and a high degree of ownership

  • PropTech, property management, or tenant screening experience is a plus

  • Strong desire to learn and grow within an organization along with a high degree of ownership

Benefits of working at Boom

  • Competitive salary with stock options

  • Full healthcare coverage (health, dental, vision) including 50% coverage for dependents

  • 15 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year + 3 sick days + all US federal holidays (11 in total) (note: we think unlimited PTO is BS and causes some employees to feel guilty when they take it)

  • Company-issued laptop/MacBook

  • Company-sponsored training & development

  • Regular off-sites, retreats, and other company-sponsored events and travel opportunities
