Job Summary
Responsible for providing high-level maintenance, repair, inspection, and modification of complex building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure operational excellence, safety, and compliance. This role diagnoses and resolves highly complex technical issues in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems and performs advanced skilled trades work. The Specialist mentors others, and leads facility improvement initiatives requiring specialized knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
● Conduct advanced preventive and corrective maintenance inspections to proactively identify and resolve highly complex facility and equipment issues.
● Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex problems in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems independently.
● Perform advanced skilled trades work including carpentry, painting, infrastructure upgrades, and specialized installations.
● Install, program, and calibrate sophisticated building systems and equipment in compliance with codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
● Lead or coordinate complex maintenance and construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy and quality outcomes.
● Respond to escalated work orders and service requests, prioritizing tasks to maintain operational continuity.
● Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, materials usage, and compliance documentation.
● Manage parts, tools, and supply inventories to support advanced maintenance work.
● Provide technical training, guidance, and mentoring to maintenance staff across levels.
● Act as a resource for cross-functional teams and contractors on facilities maintenance best practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
● Advanced proficiency in multiple skilled trades
● Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documents.
● Understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and safety compliance requirements.
● Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex, non-routine issues independently.
● Proficiency with a wide range of specialized tools, instruments, and computerized maintenance systems.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage complex projects and documentation.
● Excellent communication and leadership ability to mentor, train, and influence others.
Typical Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade school training in a relevant field strongly preferred.
● 9+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building systems repair, or skilled trades, including advanced technical expertise.
● Relevant certifications strongly preferred
The pay range for this position is between $42 to $53 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
