Scott Barry

Scott Barry has over 19 years of experience in investment banking and the healthcare industry. He joined Essex Woodlands from Novartis Pharma AG where he most recently served as the Global Head of Pharma M&A and Collaborations. In this role, he was responsible for global acquisitions, equity investments and corporate partnerships across all therapeutic areas. He joined Novartis in 2002 and held positions in the Business Development & Licensing and Mergers & Acquisitions groups. Prior to joining Novartis, Mr. Barry was a Director for Century Capital Associates LLC, a boutique healthcare investment bank and consulting firm, where he focused on mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnering and financing transactions. Previously, he held positions at KPMG LLP in their healthcare corporate finance and assurance services groups. Mr. Barry previously served on the Board of Directors of Orthovita, Inc. (NASDAQ: VITA), and Victory Pharma, Inc., Orthovita was acquired by Stryker Corporation and Victory Pharma was acquired by Shionogi, Inc. He currently serves as a director on the Board of Velcera. He is also an observer for the board of ZIOPHARM Oncology, Inc. and Bioventus. Mr. Barry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University. Mr. Barry joined Essex Woodlands as Principal in the New York office in October 2006, was promoted to Partner in 2008 and was promoted to Managing Director and co-head of the Shanghai office in June 2012.
