Dr. Marco Mercader is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an associate professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He is a magna cum laude graduate in bioengineering from Syracuse University. He completed his medical school training at the State University of New York where he received the American Federation for Clinical Research Award. He trained in internal medicine at George Washington University and completed his cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at the same institution. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He was selected as a Washingtonian Top Doctor in 2012. Dr. Mercader is author of several publications and book chapters with a focus on cardiac arrhythmias. He has multiple abstracts presented at American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society meetings. His clinical interests include the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias with cardiac ablation procedures and cardiac pacing/defibrillation devices.
