Born on March 21, 1957. In 1979, he graduated from the Mathematics and Mechanical Faculty of Leningrad State University. Until 1992, he worked in the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, simultaneously and until 1995 he lectured in Saint-Petersburg Technical University, he holds a PhD in Physics and Mathematics. In the 1980s, he was known as a professional programmer-developer, participated in major projects for development of proprietary software engineering for mainframe computers (JEC, Algol-68, SPORA). From the middle of the 1980s, he started to work with software for personal computers, and supervised development of the AstroFORT programming system. In the first half of the 1990s, he executed a number of commercial solutions for Microsoft Windows. Since 1991, he was the Technical Director of the AstroSoft Company. In 1993, he started working with Microsoft, and in 1995 became a full-time employee at Microsoft Consulting Services. Since the opening of the Russian branch of MCS in 1996, he headed that Microsoft division. In 1997, he was appointed Head of the Work with Corporate Clients Department of Microsoft Corporation in Russia. Later he occupied the post of Director of Strategy for Microsoft in Russia and CIS. Starting in January 2007, Mr. Agamirzyan worked as the General Director of the Saint-Petersburg Centre of Software Development at the EMC Corporation. In April of 2009, he became the General Director of the Russian Venture Company (RVC).
