Ian Putter

Ian Putter is an Executive at the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited, the largest financial institution in Africa. Ian currently holds amongst others the Blockchain Business Sponsor role for finance as well as Head: Unified Finance Development and Innovation. Also added to his current portfolio is the Finance Academy and Training Office for the CA Graduate Training Program. He received a Master’s degree in Banking and Economics from the University of Pretoria and thereafter completed an Honours and CTA at the University of Johannesburg to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. He started his career as an Economist and later joined Standard Bank in 1996 in the Treasury Audit Department as well as various other positions. Ian Putter is busy exploring what blockchain technology could mean for the bank and finance specifically, and how it could revolutionize the banking industry.
