Chris Xie

After graduating from Wenzhou University in China in 1983, Mr. Xie worked as a math teacher until 1995. At that time, he enrolled in an MBA program at SIU (Schiller International University) in Heidelberg, Germany. In 1998, after graduation and receiving an MBA degree, Mr. Xie joined Siemens EVLT as Deputy of Business Administration Manager and CFO for a Siemens JV (Joint Venture) in China. Mr. Xie brought significant value to the company, transforming a financially difficult joint venture into a solid and profitable company. Mr. Xie’s interest in venture capital business prompted him to publish a book titled “Guide to Global Venture Capital” by CITIC Press in 2000. In 2003, Mr. Xie, along with his family, immigrated to Canada. He began consulting and investing, focusing on the real estate market in Vancouver and financial markets in North America. In 2007, he enrolled at Polytechnic Institute of NYU (New York University, NY, USA) to pursue an MSFE (Master of Science in Financial Engineering and Risk Management) with success and graduated with his MSFE in 2008. Mr. Xie is also a Certified FRM (Financial Risk Manager) by GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals). In 2010, Mr Xie founded an investment firm, Top Renergy Inc.(TRE), to support venture capital funds to start-up ventures, early- and middle-stage companies.
