Why This Role Exists

Hospitals and insurers underpay out-of-network doctors every day. The No Surprises Act created a federal arbitration process (IDR) where those claims get re-priced, and providers win the overwhelming majority of the time. We built the software that runs the whole process (eligibility, pricing, filing, collections) on top of the largest verified database of arbitration outcomes in the country. Doctors pay us only when money lands in their account.

Here is the market structure that makes this role the highest-leverage seat in the company: the unit of growth in IDR is the claim feed, not the doctor. The top filers in the country are not sales organizations. They are aggregators: billing companies, staffing groups, and consultancies filing on behalf of hundreds of providers at once. One signed billing partner delivers the claim flow of fifty direct sales.

Our direct motion works and keeps running. This role builds the channel layer on top of it: the partners who already hold the claims, the advisors who already hold the trust, and the rooms where our buyers already gather. One national RCM partnership is in contracting today, with warm threads behind it. You take it from one to a system.

Who You'll Work With

Clearest was founded by Nicolas Raga, who previously built LLM systems at Amazon. He started the company after watching specialty practices leave out-of-network money on the table: claims expire on a 30-business-day clock, billers write them off, and the federal arbitration process that recovers them (IDR) is too technical and deadline-driven for most practices to run alone. Clearest exists so that recovery is software, not heroic admin.

You'll report to Nicolas and work daily with Will, our Head of Sales, who built the direct practice motion this channel sits on top of. Partnerships is not a side project of sales; it is the distribution layer that turns one signed biller into fifty practices' claim feeds. Small team, high trust, no layers between you and the decision.

What You'll Build

A partner engine measured in claims, not logos. In this company, a partnership means an authorized, recurring claim feed. Introductions, MOUs, co-marketing agreements, and logo slides count for nothing until eligible claims flow.

The pitch to a partner is strong because the economics are found money: a billing company monetizes claims it has already worked and written off, with zero added headcount and no capital outlay. We do the filing, they share in recovery on dollars that did not exist before.

Who You'll Partner With

RCM and billing companies (the core lane). Regional and specialty-focused billers whose clients generate out-of-network claims: surgical specialties, anesthesia, neuromonitoring, emergency groups. Referral, white-label, or embedded-feed structures.
Physician consultants and practice-management advisors. The consultants, fractional administrators, and practice CFO advisors that independent specialty practices already trust. They advise; we execute; their client collects more.
Conferences, societies, and associations. Specialty societies and their state chapters (spine, orthopedics, plastics, anesthesia, pain), practice-manager associations, and billing-industry groups. Speaking slots and workshops over booths; every event gets pipeline math.
Advisory groups and physician networks. IPAs, specialty practice networks, and physician advisory organizations that can put us in front of dozens of owners at once.
Law firms (alliance lane). Healthcare-collections and out-of-network litigation firms: they enforce awards we have already won, and we file the small-dollar claims their cost structure cannot touch.

You will not be guessing who to call. We generate partner target lists from federal dispute data, so we can see which billers and provider networks are sitting on eligible claims that nobody is filing.

What You'll Do

Run the full partnership lifecycle. Source, pitch, structure, negotiate, contract, launch, activate. You own a deal until claims are flowing, not until signature.
Design the deal structures. Referral, white-label, and collections-alliance economics. You model contribution margin per partner before signing, not after.
Own the live pipeline from day one. An RCM partnership in contracting, warm threads with several more, and a built target list of specialty billers.
Turn events into a channel. Pick the three rooms per quarter where our buyers actually are, get on stage, and walk out with named pipeline. No brand-awareness spend.
Instrument everything. Partner-sourced pipeline, activation rates, claims per partner per month, and revenue contribution live in the CRM. Closed-loop feedback with sales and ops.
Protect two non-negotiables in every contract: non-exclusive with a short exit, and Clearest retains outcome data rights.

First 90 Days

First 30: Learn the product and the economics cold: eligibility, the filing clock, take rates, what a partner's 835 access unlocks. Take over the live partner pipeline. Pressure-test the target list of specialty and regional billers.

First 60: Outreach at volume into the target list. Discovery calls running weekly. First pilot feed signed: a real batch of authorized claims from a partner's book, not a letter of intent.

First 90: First partner claims in our pipeline and a second pilot in negotiation. Law-firm collections pilot launched. Next quarter's event calendar booked with named targets attached. A channel scorecard the company plans capacity around.

This is a builder's timeline with explicit pass bars, and we will share them with you in the first week. We run partnerships as tests with kill criteria, and this seat's first job is to pass the test faster than the founder could part-time.

Requirements

5+ years building revenue-generating partnerships or channel sales in healthcare, with receipts: partner names, deal structures, and the revenue numbers that resulted
Built a program from zero at least once. You took a founder-led or ad hoc partner motion and turned it into a repeatable engine, and you can walk through exactly how
RCM fluency. You know how billing companies make money, what a percentage-of-collections contract looks like, and how to talk to an owner about margin. You can learn out-of-network arbitration fast because you already speak revenue cycle
Deal-structure literacy. Comfortable modeling revenue shares, referral fees, and white-label economics, and negotiating them without giving away the margin
A network that answers. People in the billing and practice-management world take your call this week, not after six touches
Startup-calibrated. No partner-marketing team, no events budget approvals committee, no brand. You, a list, a phone, and a product that works

Strongly Preferred

Sold or partnered around services priced as a percentage of collections (RCM, collections, recovery services)
Existing relationships with regional or specialty billing companies, practice-management consultants, or specialty societies
Familiarity with out-of-network billing or the No Surprises Act
Early-stage experience: employee #5-25 somewhere, and you liked owning outcomes without air cover
Experience where the close included implementation or data access, so "signed but not live" already offends you

What This Role Is NOT

Not BD theater. If your portfolio is MOUs and press releases, this will go badly. Nothing here counts until claims flow.
Not enterprise alliances. No 12-month co-sell frameworks with national platforms. Our partners are regional and specialty firms that can sign in weeks.
Not an events coordinator seat. Conferences are a channel with pipeline math, not a calendar of booths.
Not a team-first leadership role. You are the partnerships function for the first several quarters. Headcount follows a proven channel, not the other way around.
Not an exclusivity game. We sign non-exclusive deals on purpose, and we keep our data rights. If your instinct is to trade exclusivity for logos, we are misaligned.

Compensation

$110-135K base · $190-240K OTE, uncapped · equity · health/dental/vision. Remote (US); NYC a plus.
