Location: This role will require onsite in our Overland Park, KS location.

We're growing fast and adding to our People Operations team. We're looking for an HR Generalist in our Overland Park office to own our payroll, benefits and employer tax administration. You'll bring experience we can learn from and tell us when there's a better way to run things.

This is a generalist role centered on payroll and benefits. Most of your week goes to payroll, benefits and tax. You're also someone people can bring any HR question to, and are team player at your core


What you'll own

  • US payroll, end to end. Run multi-state payroll in Rippling accurately and on time, including off-cycles, garnishments, payroll audits and year-end (W-2s, reconciliations).

  • Employer tax accounts. Register and maintain state withholding and unemployment accounts as we grow into new states. Handle filings, rate notices and agency correspondence.

  • US benefits administration. Manage our benefit plans: enrollments, life events, open enrollment, carrier and broker coordination, COBRA, and benefits compliance.

  • Monthly benefits reconciliation. Reconcile carrier invoices against enrollment and payroll deductions every month, and resolve the discrepancies.

  • International payroll support. Help with payroll inputs and employee questions for team members employed through our Employer of Record (EOR) partner in Rippling.

  • Process and scale. Document, automate and improve how we do payroll, benefits and tax. Bring the playbook we don't have yet.

  • Generalist coverage. Field employee questions, support onboarding and offboarding, and back up office operations when needed.

What you bring

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on US payroll and benefits administration, multi-state highly preferred.

  • Experience setting up and maintaining state payroll tax registrations (SIT/SUI) and handling agency notices.

  • Experience owning benefits administration and monthly invoice reconciliation.

  • A high bar for accuracy and confidentiality, and the judgment to know when something looks wrong.

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup where some processes don’t exist yet and building it is part of the job.

Bonus points

  • Rippling payroll and benefits experience (strongly preferred)

  • You've helped a company move off a PEO

  • EOR or global payroll exposure

  • Broader generalist experience across employee relations, leave administration and HR compliance

  • You've worked in a high-growth tech company

Education & Certifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience).
