Product Manager - Data Supply

About the Team
Our Network Enablement and Access team works to unlock the potential of Plaid's network by broadening and deepening our connections with data partners. We build the capabilities that help data providers participate in the network, strengthen the quality and reliability of those connections, and enable great products and experiences for Plaid's customers.

Within Network Enablement and Access, the Data Supply Traffic and Health team owns how Plaid's requests flow to the data providers we depend on. We manage the load placed on each provider, the constraints that shape our access, and the fair allocation of capacity across Plaid's products and new initiatives. As paid access expands across the network, we also work to keep that traffic reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

As the Product Manager for Data Supply Health and Traffic, you will establish and lead a new product area at the foundation of every Plaid product. You will define how Plaid allocates constrained provider capacity, scales traffic across products, and manages the economics of paid data access.

You will also optimize for data freshness, balancing timeliness with provider capacity and cost so Plaid's products can deliver better experiences to end users. You will own the strategy and roadmap, partner closely with engineering and data-provider teams, and turn technical, contractual, and commercial constraints into clear product priorities.

This is a highly analytical and cross-functional role for someone who enjoys creating structure where no established playbook exists. In your first year, you will build the operating framework for traffic allocation and fairness, develop a clear view of paid-access cost and efficiency, and establish the metrics Plaid uses to run and improve this area.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own Plaid's strategy and roadmap for data-supply traffic, health, and cost efficiency.

• Build and prioritize traffic-optimization initiatives, including opportunities created by evolving machine-learning models and strategic concessions negotiated with providers.

• Serve as the bridge between Plaid's data-provider relationship teams and internal product teams, translating provider constraints into internal priorities and product demand into clear asks of providers.

• Partner deeply with engineering and data teams to understand system behavior, evaluate technical trade-offs, and turn analysis into decisions.

• Establish and track the core traffic and cost metrics needed to operate the area, identify risks, and measure progress.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience, including 5+ in product management or equivalent founder/operator roles.

• Analytical rigor: You are comfortable working directly with data, cost models, and operational metrics to make and defend complex decisions.

• Deep technical fluency: You can reason about large-scale systems, load management, API platforms, and machine-learning models and engage engineers as a close product partner.

• Platform & systems thinking mindset: You think in systems, and design for reuse and the long term.

• Leadership, stakeholder influence, and communication :You should be comfortable working cross-functionally (engineering, data, product) and influencing without direct authority. You must be able to explain complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders, drive alignment, and make trade-offs crystal clear.
