POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, Reliability Manager, who will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for flight system safety, quality and reliability that will interface with Safety and Mission Assurance Vice President and program managers, Safety and Mission Assurance team members, design engineers, radiation specialists, safety engineers, quality and procurement engineers and representatives from other subsystems to plan, document, and execute effective strategies for eliminating and/or minimizing risk and ensuring operational reliability.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and implement an overall reliability engineering strategy, including specific practices, processes, and a reliability growth plan for components and systems.
• Lead a team of Reliability Engineers in successfully implementing requirements and program deliverable milestones
• Provide effective project planning and leadership specific to the Reliability team and for other aspects of the S&MA program where applicable
• Work in a collaborative engineering team environment and progress a positive safety culture      
• Lead, develop and present Reliability Analysis results to achieve program goals and objectives
• Responsible for end-to-end system reliability analysis (MTBF, PRA, FMEA, CIL, Reliability Test Criteria) and products
• Lead and conduct Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) in support of design trades and risk-informed decisions throughout the program's life cycle
• Lead the development and implementation of accurate Reliability data management systems/records
• Develop and represent Reliability Analysis reports/presentations to management and other S&MA teams as necessary
• Conduct performance management functions to advance the reliability teams skill set to achieve the organization objectives
• Collaborate with engineering and subsystem teams to implement integrated reliability analyses.
• Prepare technical documentation and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners
•  Communicate analysis progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and management

Education & Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)

·       10+ years of direct experience in spacecraft reliability-focused activities, including statistical process control, modeling/prediction with a minimum of 3-5 years as a manager.

·       Related experience in the reliability predictions for new designs of spacecraft, space vehicles, and their related components and systems is desired.

·       Experience in analyzing and processing flight hardware failure data to calculate or refine product reliability metrics and recommend improvement measures.

·       A broad background in space systems engineering, including an understanding of space vehicle design, space system architecture development, ground systems support, payloads, and space missions and operations development.

·       Detailed knowledge of spaceflight subsystems and functions, preferably human spaceflight related.

·       Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
