Role and Responsibilities

This position will serve as the US Payroll Manager, leading a team of approximately seven employees responsible for end-to-end payroll operations across the United States. This team oversees all key payroll activities, including one-time payments, merit increases, stock and equity transactions, basic salary administration, payroll integrations, state taxation, time and absence processes and related payroll support.

  • Directly lead and manage day-to-day US payroll administration.

  • Ensure the timely, complete and accurate execution of payroll, payroll taxes and social security requirements.

  • Review and maintain relevant internal controls to support ongoing SOX compliance, while ensuring financial controls and business processes are efficient, effective and consistent with corporate guidelines.

  • Manage the ASML payroll system and related payroll processes in coordination with the payroll system provider.

  • Oversee effective tier 2 and tier 3 case management for ASML employees and managers related to payroll, wage tax and social security issues.

  • Drive and lead the standardization, simplification and automation of payroll processes.

  • Support Corporate, EFS, HR, Finance and cross-functional projects and initiatives.

  • Align payroll delivery with internal and external customer requirements while collaborating across EFS US, Finance, HR and other cross-functional partners.

  • Build strong relationships with and develop the payroll team, while ensuring payroll personnel have the right competencies, training and development plans in place.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related Business Field; or equivalent years of working experience.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience within a large, multi-state, public company doing payroll operation.

  • Minimum of 2-3 year of leadership experience with proven ability to lead and develop a team and work well independently.

  • Experience with ADP "Global View" Payroll.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

  • GL, Tax, Reporting experience is strongly preferred.

  • SAP / Oracle experience is preferred.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, EFS, payroll vendors, system providers and other business partners to resolve complex issues, align on priorities and deliver consistent payroll outcomes across the organization.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll topics clearly, handle sensitive employee and manager inquiries with discretion and professionalism and build trust with internal stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess root causes, balance competing priorities, mitigate risk and maintain a high level of accuracy and compliance under tight timelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with integrity, confidentiality and sound judgment when managing sensitive employee data, payroll escalations and business-critical payroll processes.


Other Information

  • May require travel up to 10%.

  • May require extended work hours to meet payroll / project deadlines.
