Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing projects from concept to completion, ensuring all phases are managed effectively, while developing customer relationships, coordinating with technical teams, and providing comprehensive project reporting.
The position reports to the VP of Project & Mission Management and is part of the Program Management department.
In this role, the essential functions are:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
- Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and leadership
- Facilitate meetings, including kickoffs, status updates, and retrospectives
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Perform post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement

- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in project management or a related role supporting complex technical projects
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies
- Experience leading cross-functional teams including technical and project management staff, defining tasks, schedules, and levels of effort
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or similar certification preferred
- Experience working with government and commercial aerospace customers
Travel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:
- Travel up to 30%
- Sedentary work; ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
