VP of Data Center Development / Chief Development Officer

Posh is developing data center projects and hiring a senior leader to help turn sites and plans into operating facilities. You will work directly with the founding team, bringing the development judgment and execution experience to move projects from diligence through construction, energization, and commissioning.

We expect to hire at the VP level and are open to a Chief Development Officer title for someone whose experience and scope fit. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for both project strategy and day-to-day execution.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Lead the development process: site feasibility, land and site control, utility coordination, entitlements, permitting, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

• Establish credible power, cost, and schedule assumptions. Identify critical-path constraints early, resolve dependencies, and keep the team focused on decisions that move projects forward.

• Build and manage relationships with utilities, landowners, local authorities, engineering firms, general contractors, equipment vendors, and other delivery partners.

• Own integrated project schedules, development budgets, risk registers, and clear go/no-go recommendations. Support project economics, commercial negotiations, and financing diligence alongside the team.

• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, cooling, network, and operational requirements with technical experts so customer needs translate into a buildable, commissionable facility.

• Build the development team and external partner network as projects grow, while staying close enough to the details to unblock work personally.

USE AI TO BUILD FASTER

We want someone curious about new tools and willing to change how development gets done. Partner with our team to use AI for tasks such as site screening, diligence synthesis, permit tracking, bid comparison, schedule analysis, and project reporting. Test useful workflows, measure their impact, and verify outputs against source documents and expert judgment. You do not need to be a software engineer; you do need the willingness to learn and put better tools into practice.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Direct responsibility for delivering at least one data center through construction and commissioning or operational handover. You can clearly explain your role, the facility's scale, major constraints, and the outcome.

• Experience leading complex development or capital projects, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

• Practical understanding of utility service and energization, permitting, long-lead equipment, contractor delivery, and commissioning dependencies.

• Commercial judgment: you can weigh speed, cost, reliability, and execution risk and make clear recommendations with incomplete information.

• A hands-on approach, strong follow-through, and comfort working in a small team where leaders both set direction and execute.

• Demonstrated curiosity about AI and automation, with a concrete example of a workflow you have improved or a thoughtful proposal you are ready to test.

Experience with high-density AI infrastructure, power-constrained sites, onsite energy systems, or developing multiple facilities is a plus. We value what you have delivered and how you work more than a particular prior title.
