
NRO Inspector General - IT Auditor
Job Description
As a CIA officer working for the NRO Office of Inspector General, you will be responsible for conducting IT audits, evaluations, and assessments of NRO programs and activities.
Major Duties
Protect your nation by strengthening NRO programs and operations through independent oversight! As an IT Auditor with the NRO OIG, your work will help NRO effectively and efficiently carry out its vital national security mission and promote good stewardship of its resources by helping detect and deter mismanagement, fraud, waste, and abuse. Supporting IT audits, evaluations, and assessments of NRO programs and activities you will: Help plan and conduct IT audits, evaluations, and assessments of NRO programs under the guidance of the Assistant Inspector General for Audits Analyze and assess the security and internal controls, as well as the development, implementation, and acquisition of IT networks, systems, and applications Support critical quality assurance related tasks for audits, evaluations, and assessments Work collaboratively with other auditors to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and document analysis and conclusions Support or lead meetings with NRO officials including interviews and the presentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations Write work papers and reports that support recommendations for improvement in NRO programs and activities Conduct or support other OIG functions and projects as required Note: This position will be vetted and onboarded as a CIA officer who will be immediately and indefinitely detailed to the NRO, specifically the NRO OIG. Travel may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates should be committed to improving the efficiency of the Federal government, passionate about the ideals of our American republic, and committed to upholding the rule of law and the US Constitution. Demonstrated experience planning and conducting technical assessments of information systems, IT audits, or IT risk and control testing Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to assemble and assimilate quantitative and qualitative data, decipher trends, identify key issues and associated root causes, and draw appropriate conclusions Demonstrated excellent writing skills including an ability to synthesize technical information into written products that are clear, concise, accurate, and objective Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical information, elicit information from interviews, and tailor communication based on the audience Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation Desired Qualifications Advanced degrees Professional certifications: Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) An interest in space and ground operations, intelligence collection and analysis, or intelligence oversight Experience within the IC or Defense Intelligence Enterprise Experience with government auditing, program evaluation, or information systems Experience with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards or CIGIE Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation
Education
Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited university
