Vela Builds YC-Backed Autonomous AI Agents for Complex Scheduling

By Zero G Talent•

San Francisco-based Vela is developing autonomous AI agents designed to handle meeting coordination and calendar management for knowledge workers. Founded in 2026, the four-person startup participated in Y Combinator's W26 batch and has raised $500,000 in Seed funding from Y Combinator and Rebel Fund.

Vela is building software to eliminate the manual back-and-forth involved in arranging meetings. The platform addresses common calendar management tasks, including parsing multi-turn email threads, juggling time zones, resolving overlapping commitments, and evaluating social dynamics regarding which attendee should flex their availability.

Autonomous Agents and Memory Infrastructure

To coordinate meetings end-to-end, Vela develops agents capable of communicating across voice, chat, and email channels. Rather than serving solely as a personal assistant interface for an individual user, the agents are engineered to communicate directly with external participants on behalf of the user.

The system relies on machine learning models, LangGraph, and custom in-house memory layers. This architecture enables the platform to track individual preferences and priority patterns over time while maintaining dynamic privacy controls that govern what contextual details are disclosed during multi-party coordination.

Leadership Team

Vela was co-founded by brothers Saatvik Suryajit Korisepati and Gobhanu Sasankar Korisepati.

President Saatvik Suryajit Korisepati left the University of Chicago, where he was a Booth Scholar pursuing a dual MBA and MS in Computer Science. He completed his BS in Computer Science and Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University, filed his first patent at age 16, worked as an engineer on Amazon Web Services' ML Supercompute team, and is a Z Fellow.

CEO Gobhanu Sasankar Korisepati left the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School to co-found the business. At 14, he established microfinance organization SWIFTmfi, which issued loans across 77 countries. He previously worked at Perplexity and BCG AI, and is also a Z Fellow.
