Vector Legal has raised a seed round led by Base10 Partners and Y Combinator to expand its hybrid AI law firm and legal software platform. As reported by Pulse 2.0, the San Francisco startup combines proprietary software with licensed attorneys to deliver end-to-end legal support for early-stage teams, growth companies, venture capital firms, and private equity investors. Dealroom reported the round totaled $5.19 million.
Founded out of Y Combinator's Winter 2026 batch, the company operates as a four-person shop pairing software automation with dedicated legal counsel. To support growing client volume, Vector Legal is actively recruiting across both its technical and corporate legal practices.
Combining Legal Software with Direct Counsel
Vector Legal handles company legal operations from formation through exits. Its coverage spans priced fundraising rounds, commercial customer agreements, complex incorporations, team expansion, cap table management, legal health checks, mergers and acquisitions, co-founder separations, and corporate dissolutions.
Alongside lawyer support, the platform packages software features including agentic data rooms and e-signatures. In a statement reported by Pulse 2.0, the company explained its approach: "Legal is increasingly becoming a software business as much as it is a service business, and customers are demanding modern solutions." The firm relies on outcome-based pricing structured to comply with professional responsibility rules, delivering work at lower cost than traditional firms.
Leadership with Big Law and AI Infrastructure Backgrounds
The company was established by experienced operators across law and enterprise software:
