Talos Crosses $1 Trillion in Trading Volume and Expands Tokenization Infrastructure
Talos crossed $1 trillion in lifetime notional trading volume in August 2026, marking an eight-year progression from an early connectivity layer into core institutional trading infrastructure. Founded in 2018 in New York City, the 204-person company provides the underlying software that investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and brokers use to source liquidity, route orders, clear, and settle digital assets.
The milestone follows substantial institutional buy-in over the past year. In January 2026, AlleyWatch reported that Talos raised a $45 million Series B round, pushing its total equity funding to $190 million. Backers in the round included a16z crypto, BNY, Fidelity, IMC Trading, Karatage, QCP, Robinhood, and the Sony Innovation Fund. That round coincided with an investment from Robinhood at a $1.5 billion valuation, according to CoinDesk.
Connecting Wall Street to Digital Asset Liquidity
Institutional investors trading digital assets face fragmented market structure: liquidity is dispersed across dozens of centralized exchanges, OTC desks, custodians, and decentralized venues. Talos builds a single interface that connects to these counterparties, standardizing order routing, execution algorithms, clearing workflows, and portfolio management.
Rather than running an exchange itself, Talos operates strictly as a technology provider. The platform handles liquidity sourcing, price discovery, pre-trade portfolio construction, execution, and post-trade settlement. As detailed by Markets Media, the platform is expanding beyond spot cryptocurrencies to support tokenized collateral, perpetual futures, and prediction markets. Talos is also advancing tokenized collateral projects alongside Nasdaq and tokenized securities settlement workflows with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).
Data infrastructure forms the second pillar of the platform. In July 2025, Fortune reported that Talos acquired crypto market data firm Coin Metrics for more than $100 million. That acquisition brought on-chain analytics, index products, and reference pricing into the Talos stack, serving traditional institutions looking for unified data workflows alongside trading execution. Earlier, in late 2025, Talos integrated directly into BlackRock's Aladdin investment management system, giving enterprise asset managers direct connectivity to crypto execution from existing institutional workflows.
Leadership Rooted in Traditional Trading Systems
Talos was founded by capital markets veterans who built high-throughput order and execution systems in traditional finance before moving into digital assets.
Co-founder and CEO Anton Katz previously served as Head of Trading Technology at AQR Capital Management from 2015 to 2018. Before AQR, he spent four years at Broadway Technology as Director of Software and Head of Market Connectivity, following an early engineering stint as a Technical Program Manager at Microsoft. Katz holds a BS in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Co-founder and CTO Ethan Feldman partnered with Katz in 2018 to launch Talos, drawing on institutional software architecture experience to design low-latency connectivity for 24/7 crypto markets. Both Katz and Feldman also co-founded Space Talos.
Talos records also list executive leadership members Himani Musku as COO, who studied computer science at Carnegie Mellon and published research with MIT Lincoln Laboratory; Kevin Hwang as CTO, an applied math and computer science graduate from Johns Hopkins who conducted foundation model and transformer research; and Amitav Kohli as CEO, an electrical and computer engineering researcher from Carnegie Mellon with power systems experience.
Expansion Into Tokenization and European Operations
With 18 open positions listed, hiring activity indicates where Talos is deploying its Series B capital: tokenization products, European connectivity, and enterprise sales.

On the client-facing side, institutional distribution is backed by roles such as a Strategic Account Manager in New York ($200,000 to $240,000) and regional sales directors in EMEA.
