Taktile Expands Financial Decision Platform with $110M Series C and US Sales Hiring

By Zero G Talent•

Taktile raised $110 million in Series C funding led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with participation from Tiger Global, Index Ventures, and Y Combinator, according to Fortune. The round follows a $54 million Series B led by Balderton Capital in early 2025, reported by TechCrunch. Headquartered in Berlin and New York, Taktile builds an AI-powered decision platform designed to help banks, credit unions, insurers, and fintechs automate complex risk decisions across customer onboarding, know-your-customer (KYC) checks, credit underwriting, fraud detection, and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.

From MLOps Pivot to Agentic Decision Infrastructure

Taktile was co-founded in 2020 by Chief Executive Officer Maik Taro Wehmeyer and CPTO Dr. Maximilian Eber after meeting at Harvard and working together as machine learning engineers at QuantCo. Speaking on the podcast Fintech Leaders, Wehmeyer explained that Taktile originally started as a horizontal, developer-first MLOps platform. When competing tools from hyperscalers saturated the market, 99 out of 100 banks rejected their initial pitch. Listening to feedback from early credit and risk analysts, the founders pivoted to build a low-code decision environment layered on top of machine learning models.

Today, Taktile combines three connected components: a decision engine, a third-party data marketplace, and an agent platform. In an interview with PYMNTS, Wehmeyer noted that while thousands of financial institutions remain cautious about AI, adoption is shifting toward production workflows as decision speeds compress from weeks to minutes. Taktile powers decisions for global institutions and digital fintechs including Monzo, Mercury, Faire, Pleo, Kueski, and Allianz.

Scaling AI Capabilities and Benchmarks

A key technical inflection point occurred over the 2025 holiday period when model upgrades, specifically Anthropic’s Opus 4.5, enabled Taktile’s agents to process complex, structured numerical data accurately, as Wehmeyer shared on Fintech Leaders. Previous models struggled with financial spreading for small-and-medium business (SMB) underwriting, but the updated agents outperformed human analysts at extracting and matching balance sheet and cash flow numbers.

To address industry trust and regulatory requirements, Taktile launched Taktile Labs, a research institute building industry-specific evals and benchmarks for financial use cases like KYB and SMB lending. To mark the launch, Taktile commissioned artist Andrew Logan to build a 300-pound bronze lobster sculpture and placed it in front of Wall Street's Charging Bull statue without a permit, generating 20 million views online, as detailed by Observer.

Taktile has continued expanding its feature set across 2026. In February, the company launched its Agentic AML Solution platform to automate know-your-business checks and sanctions screening, reported on LinkedIn. Later in the year, Taktile introduced Taktile Insights, a natural language tool allowing policy teams to question and optimize decision logic, showcased in a video by Taktile. The platform has also deepened integrations with core banking software providers like MANTL, reported by PR Newswire, and credit risk modeling firms like Carrington Labs, covered by Finovate.
