As of July 2026, roughly 330 people work across three locations, according to Built In. Engineering dominates: 39 open roles on Zero G Talent's board versus eight in supply chain and five in program management. The organizational spine is an OKR model paired with team-based strategic planning, which leadership uses to align priorities without layering approval chains. An open-door policy and open floor plan keep decisions moving laterally. A flexible schedule and remote program exist.

Ownership starts early. Company materials promise "significant ownership early, with mentorship and cross-training across design, testing, and manufacturing that accelerates learning." Promotion-from-within and customized development tracks formalize what the culture already selects for: people who deliver results on the stand get asked to lead the next engine program. Leadership has acknowledged the government is "calling on companies like you to help change this" industrial base, a signal that external demand reinforces internal pace.

Tension exists between "respect" as a stated value and the sustained intensity the mission demands. The operational model, featuring 3D-printed components, hand assembly, test stands 100 yards away, and two-engine-week targets, leaves little buffer. The 3.8 culture and values score on Glassdoor suggests the mission, delivering propulsion for national security and commercial launch, still anchors commitment for many, but it doesn't erase the physical toll.

The hiring bar selects for this split implicitly. The data doesn't show a formal fix for the burnout side; the 69% recommend rate holds because the people who remain are the ones the environment selects for.

The classic-car quote from a Built In reviewer still fits: "a group of friends restoring a classic car in a buddy's garage... except it's a freakin' rocket engine." Only now the garage targets two engines a week, and the next hot-fire is always the one that matters.
