ClaimSorted Raises $16.3M to Automate Insurance Claims with AI

Insurance claims third-party administrators (TPAs) traditionally operate through manual document processing, slow turnaround times, and fragmented workflows. ClaimSorted is building what it calls "Claims TPA 2.0"—an AI-native service layer that combines embedded AI agents with human adjusters to handle end-to-end claims operations for insurance providers.

Founded in 2024 and participating in Y Combinator's S24 batch, the company operates across the US, UK, and EU. ClaimSorted builds its core platform on NextJS, TypeScript, Postgres, and Google Cloud Platform, automating intake, triage, document validation, fraud checks, and payment processing.

Building an AI-Native TPA

ClaimSorted acts as a full-stack service provider rather than a standalone software vendor. Its AI agents handle routine administrative tasks, document ingestion, and codified decision support, allowing human claims handlers to manage complex cases and edge cases. According to reporting by EU-Startups, the platform works with more than 20 insurance companies, processing claims three to five times faster than traditional providers.

The team's service-led architecture aims to eliminate common points of friction in claims administration. In an interview with Tech.eu, the company noted that its hybrid approach reduces payout errors by over 20% while providing real-time data insights directly to carrier underwriting teams.

Founder Backgrounds and Leadership

ClaimSorted was founded by Pavel Gertsberg (CEO) and German Mikulski (CTO). Prior to founding ClaimSorted, both co-founded Fluffy, a pet insurance managing general agent (MGA) where Mikulski automated roughly 70% of back-office processes using AI and Gertsberg scaled the business to over 20,000 policyholders.

• Pavel Gertsberg previously led growth, marketing, sales, and product functions across SaaS and InsurTech companies after earning a degree from SOAS University of London.
• German Mikulski holds a Computer Science degree from UCL and previously worked as an infrastructure software engineer at Deutsche Bank, where he built systems handling more than $100 million in transaction volume.

To expand senior operations, ClaimSorted recruited Harriet Parkinson, former Chief Operating Officer at Revolut Insurance, and Jim Hageman, former Chief Claims Officer at Lemonade.

Venture Funding and Growth Metrics

ClaimSorted has secured $16.3 million in total capital across two venture rounds:

1. Pre-Seed Round: Raised $3 million in October 2024, led by Firstminute Capital with participation from Y Combinator, Precursor Ventures, and Transpose, as reported by FinTech Global.
2. Seed Round: Raised $13.3 million (€11.4 million) in October 2025, led by Atomico, with participation from Eurazeo, Y Combinator, Firstminute Capital, and Start Ventures Capital, as reported by Beinsure.

Writing about the seed investment, venture firm Atomico noted that ClaimSorted's model generates cycle-time reductions of over 50% and delivers a 10-point Net Promoter Score (NPS) uplift for insurance partners.

Open Engineering and Operations Roles

ClaimSorted maintains offices in New York and London while hiring for selected remote roles in the US. Technical teams are adding software engineering talent, including a London-based AI Engineer to build multi-agent systems and a Product Engineer // Full-Stack. In New York, the company is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to integrate platform workflows with enterprise carrier architectures.

On the operational side, ClaimSorted is expanding client operations with a remote US Claims Solutions Partner and an in-person Account Executive in New York.
