Commercial and government-facing sales stays technical. A Senior Account Executive for U.S. Government (TS) carries a $219,000–$365,000 band, reflecting the clearance premium and the complexity of selling into classified programs. Partnerships — Anduril's mixed-reality combat system, Saab and Taiwan's AIDC integrating Raptor, suggest the sales motion is less license-driven and more co-development.

What ties these teams together is the clearance ceiling and the export-control floor. Nearly every engineering role in the current pipeline requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain or maintain a government clearance. That constraint shapes the candidate pool as much as the tech stack does.

What the pay looks like

Vantor's compensation runs wide. The company's own job board shows 152 salaried roles with a typical band of $82,000 to $214,000 and a median of $154,000.

The spread reflects clearance level, domain depth, and whether the seat sits in a classified program.

The company frames pay as one piece of a heavier total-rewards structure. BuiltIn's profile notes Vantor "places greater emphasis on comprehensive, top-tier benefits than on accelerating compensation growth year over year." The U.S. package includes medical and dental choice, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with match, paid holidays, and what the company calls a generous time-off policy. Eight weeks of paid parental leave cover birth or adoption, plus adoption reimbursement. Tuition reimbursement, student-loan repayment, and paid certifications round out the education benefits. Outside the U.S., benefits align with local market practice.

Incentive programs tie variable rewards to business needs, employee contribution, and company priorities. Compensation reviews fold into broader organizational planning, balanced against experience and business objectives. Candidates who map their clearance, specialty, and mission focus to the right band will see the offer match the market.

How the hiring process works

Vantor's hiring process reflects its transformation from a satellite imagery provider into an end-to-end spatial intelligence company. Candidates report a multi-stage evaluation testing both technical depth and alignment with the company's defense and intelligence mission focus. That language signals the dual filter candidates encounter: technical competence in areas like AI/ML, geospatial engineering, and applied data science, plus the ability to operate in classified or mission-critical environments.

Built In's 2026 workplace profile notes Vantor's emphasis on "mission-driven work, competitive benefits, career development, inclusive teamwork and opportunities to contribute to high-impact spatial intelligence solutions." Clearance readiness is a practical accelerator: roles at Bolling AFB and Herndon frequently list TS or TS/SCI as required or preferred, and candidates already holding those clearances move faster through the security vetting that can otherwise add months.

No single authoritative stage-by-stage flowchart comes from Vantor's talent acquisition team. The aggregate of candidate reviews, job postings, and company messaging shows a process filtering for technical specialists who can also operate inside the compliance and tempo constraints of government customers. The company's own leadership describes the profile: "delivering end-to-end solutions capable of connecting sensor data from every domain."

Where the work happens

Vantor's physical footprint reflects its transition from a satellite operator with a software sideline to a software-driven spatial intelligence company. The headquarters remains in Westminster, Colorado, at 1300 W. 120th Avenue — a 200,000-square-foot office complex the company leases from AXS Opportunity Fund, which purchased the property for $32 million in October 2025, a 65 percent discount from the $92 million Peakstone Realty Trust paid in 2014. Vantor spokesman Tomi Maxted confirmed 500 employees work out of the complex, and AXS managing partner Shahram Afshani said the lease has "a number of years" remaining, adding he is optimistic about renewal.

The Westminster site houses mission operations for the Vantor Constellation — GeoEye-1, WorldView-1, WorldView-2, WorldView-3, and the six WorldView Legion satellites launched between 2024 and 2026 on SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicles. Those satellites deliver 15 daily revisit opportunities over the same location, roughly 7 million square kilometers of daily high-resolution collection capacity, Vantor's blog reported (including 3.5 million square kilometers at 30-centimeter resolution, Vantor's data shows), and have mapped 100 percent of the most populous areas at 15 centimeters and 99 percent of the world at seamless 30 centimeters. The 3D terrain archive covers 100 million square kilometers, Vantor found, 95 percent of the areas customers request most. This orbital infrastructure is the company's largest "facility" by coverage, and Westminster is its ground control.

A second major cluster sits in the National Capital Region. These locations put engineers and customer-facing staff inside the defense and intelligence bureaucracy Vantor serves: the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's G-EGD program (400,000+ government users), the Army's One World Terrain program, the NGA Luno program, and the F-35 Full Mission Simulator via Lockheed Martin. The Westminster and NCR sites are linked by Tensorglobe, the AI-powered spatial intelligence platform launched in October 2025. Engineers in Colorado writing Cortex orchestration code and analysts in Virginia fusing Umbra SAR with WorldView optical data operate on the same platform.

Software development has shifted toward the platform layer. The February 2025 launch of Raptor, integrating Vantor's 3D terrain with drone cameras for GPS-denied navigation, and the June 2025 launch of Sentry, automating change detection at global scale, were developed by teams split between Westminster and the NCR. The December 2025 partnership with Niantic Spatial on a unified air-to-ground visual positioning system for defense operations extends that work. Meanwhile, the legacy satellite manufacturing and bus engineering that once anchored the California operation now belongs to Maxar Space Systems, a separate company under the same Advent International ownership.

For candidates, the geography maps to the mission: Westminster is the satellite operations and core platform engineering center; the NCR is the customer engineering, classified integration, and government sales hub. Both run on the same stack.

The tradeoff is acknowledged in the research: "mission-driven intensity" and "autonomy with accountability" are listed as primary tradeoffs. People who need the highest W-2 number to feel valued will leave. People who measure value in "customer mission first" language, the company's stated top value, stay.

Adaptability completes the picture. Vantor is expanding its constellation (Vantage and Pulse, announced April 2026). The workplace data notes "communication and alignment can be more challenging in a company moving through change." The work-environment policies reflect a hybrid model with defined in-office expectations, async-friendly norms, and a 4-day work week option in some groups, but also "restricted work hours" and "defined boundaries around off-hours communication." In short: Vantor selects for engineers, analysts, and operators who want to own a problem end-to-end, talk to the adjacent discipline without a translator, and accept that the paycheck reflects a mission premium rather than a market peak. The hiring process screens for exactly that profile. The people who pass it tend to stay.
