The functional map reads more like a software company with a shipyard than a shipyard with a software team. Mission Operations runs at-sea test events and operator training certified through the AUVSI Trusted UMS Operator Program. Growth and Corporate Development navigate the Pentagon's acquisition bureaucracy — a map so sprawling "the individual subcomponents still would not be legible" when stretched across a wall, as CEO Dino Mavrookas described it. Tampa carries a Business Development Manager focused on SOCOM, signaling that special-operations forces are a named customer lane. What ties these lanes together is the iteration cadence. The first Marauder hull moved from design to on-water trials in under a year; the second is progressing 25 percent faster, Naval News reported. The org chart is built for cross-cutting motion: autonomy engineers working with naval architects, forward-deployed engineers closing the loop between fleet feedback and the next software push, and business developers matching Marauder payload configurations (four 40-foot ISO containers, eight 20-foot containers, or modular sensor suites) to customer exercises.

The company said it expects to add dozens of roles to its San Diego operations in the months following the opening.

Franklin, Louisiana: production at scale
The Franklin shipyard is where the Marauder class moves from digital twin to steel. The first Marauder hull went from initial design to on-water trials on that timeline, a pace Mavrookas noted 'hasn't been seen in U.S. shipbuilding since WWII.' The second hull was flipped in March 2026 and is now being outfitted with mechanical, electrical, and autonomy systems; the third and fourth hulls are under construction. Expanded capacity is on track for completion by the end of 2026, at which point the yard will be capable of producing up to 20 Marauders per year, Naval News's data shows. The autonomy stack — Echelon command-and-control, mission-level autonomy, smart navigation, simulation, and the fleet intelligence platform that surfaces telemetry and allows remote intervention — is software-intensive work that benefits from Austin's talent pool. The Senior Full Stack Engineer band ($190–240k) aligns with the autonomy and perception roles in San Diego, suggesting the Austin team builds the browser-based Mission Control interface, the simulation/digital-twin environment, and the data pipelines that feed the autonomy loop.

Tampa, Florida: special-operations business development
A Business Development Manager – Special Operations (SOCOM) role is based in Tampa, placing the team near U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill AFB. The hourly band ($40–60/hr) reflects a contract or field-facing structure rather than a salaried engineering track. Port Alpha: the next-generation yard
Saronic's public materials describe Port Alpha as its "next-generation shipyard designed to deliver the maritime vessels America needs at the speed and scale the future demands." No location, timeline, or headcount figures appear in the research. What is clear is that Port Alpha represents the step beyond Franklin's 20-hull-per-year capacity, a facility purpose-built for the attritable, high-volume production model the Marauder line is proving out. When it materializes, it will likely absorb the naval architecture, manufacturing engineering, and production operations roles that currently split between Franklin and New Orleans.

The geographic logic is deliberate: San Diego for the operator interface and customer-facing mission teams; Franklin for the steel; Austin for the autonomy stack; Tampa for the SOCOM relationship; New Orleans for the hull discipline; Port Alpha for the scale that comes next. Candidates choosing a location are also choosing which part of the integrated loop — design, build, operate, iterate — they want to live inside.

The profile that lasts

That under-a-year pace — the second hull already moving 25 percent faster — isn't a one-off; it's the byproduct of an integrated model where design, manufacturing, and autonomy development sit under one roof, using modern aluminum construction, modular subassemblies, and production sequencing optimized for speed without sacrificing repeatability.
