The aforementioned engineering roles, Director of Product and Design, Manager of Electrical Systems, Manager of Quality, Senior Content Marketing Manager, Global Supply Manager, Electrical Engineer, Build Engineer, Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer, Test Technician, Director of Defense, Production Operations Lead Technician, Quality Inspector, and Warehouse Associate all show Torrance, with post dates from early July to early August 2026. Torrance sits in Los Angeles County, consistent with Arc's self-description as headquartered in Los Angeles and its statement that the Arc Sport is designed and manufactured there by former rocket engineers.

No open Austin-pegged requisitions appear on the careers page, LinkedIn, or Zero G Talent as of August 2026.

The functional split hints at bottlenecks. Commercial programs at ten roles outpaces engineering at eight — a ratio suggesting the go-to-market motion scales at least as fast as the core technical build. Production at five and supply chain at two reflect a manufacturing operation staffing for volume but not yet at mass-scale headcount. The lone product and design opening, a director-level seat, implies the design function is either small or stable, with leadership the only gap.

Former rocket engineers lead the team, per the company's a16z jobs portal and LinkedIn profile. That pedigree shapes the hiring bar: Marine Systems Engineer, Electrical Systems Engineer, and Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer roles all demand experience with high-reliability, safety-critical systems. The Director of Defense role signals a parallel track into government work, separate from the recreational Sport line. Meanwhile, roles like Senior Content Marketing Manager and Commercial Sales Manager show the consumer brand push staffing up.

Arc hires across eight functional categories from a single Torrance site, pays salaried roles in a $58,000–$105,000 band, publishes no interview framework, and selects for technical rigor and mission focus — a profile shaped by its rocket-engineer founding team. That concentration shows up next in what the company posts for pay.

JobsRadar, sampling 32 open postings that disclosed pay as of July 25, 2026, found a median of $140,000 with most offers clustered between $115,000 and $170,000. Glassdoor aggregates 29 anonymous reports across 20 titles but publishes no summary band.

The gap between the first-party board ($58k–$105k) and crowdsourced figures ($115k–$170k) reflects what the company posts versus what incumbents earn once equity, bonuses, and seniority factor in. Arc's board shows what a new hire sees the day they apply. Levels.fyi and JobsRadar capture what people negotiate after they're in, or what the company pays for roles it isn't currently advertising.

Arc does not publish role-specific salary bands on its public careers page. The company lists 34 open positions but attaches concrete numbers to only a subset: a mix of annual salaries and hourly rates with no equity or bonus detail. No public document breaks down compensation by level, function, or location. The absence of structured bands fits a company of roughly 200 people that has raised a $50 million Series C, according to Bloomberg Tech, and holds a $160 million tugboat contract that Bloomberg Tech's interview revealed but has not yet formalized a public compensation philosophy. One review characterized the experience as lacking professionalism throughout. Another, posted on Glassdoor's Singapore portal, described the opposite: an engaging, fast-paced conversation with friendly, professional interviewers who offered insight into the company's technology and culture, with thoughtful questions that flowed naturally. Both accounts are real; both are anonymous; neither can be verified against a company-published standard because no such standard exists.

Indeed's FAQ page surfaces the same question and aggregates employee-submitted answers. No reviewer on either platform outlines a consistent multi-stage arc (phone screen, technical panel, onsite, offer) that would let a future applicant prepare with confidence. The company has not released a hiring FAQ, a "how we interview" blog post, or a recruiter-facing playbook.

What the first-party job board does show are the roles themselves (the aforementioned production and technical roles) all posted with location (Torrance) and compensation bands. But the postings stop at requirements and responsibilities. They do not say "expect a 30-minute recruiter screen followed by a 90-minute technical deep-dive and a half-day onsite." They do not disclose whether a take-home assignment, a live coding session, a mechanical design review, or a behavioral panel is standard. One factory, one address

Arc's physical footprint tells the story of a hardware startup that moved fast from prototype to production. The company's "Factory Forward" announcement describes the trajectory: "Less than three years ago, Arc began building electric boats in an 8,000-square-foot warehouse. Today, we're proud to announce our move into a 150,000-square-foot factory and headquarters in Los Angeles." That announcement, published on the company newsroom, marks the transition from a cramped early workspace to a facility large enough to house engineering, battery-pack assembly, powertrain integration, and final boat build under one roof.

The legal entity remains anchored in Torrance. California Secretary of State records list the principal address as 2100 W 195th St, Torrance, CA 90504, with a mailing address at 2261 Market St, #4212, San Francisco, CA 94114. The Torrance address appears on every recent role posted to Zero G Talent: the aforementioned production and technical roles all show Torrance, CA. That consistency suggests the 150,000-square-foot Los Angeles factory referenced in the Factory Forward post is either in the Torrance area (often considered part of the Greater Los Angeles industrial corridor) or that the company uses "Los Angeles" loosely for the metro region while the legal and operational address stays Torrance.

The San Francisco mailing address corresponds to the CEO's listed residence in earlier filings; a February 2025 Statement of Information changed the registered agent to Telos Legal Corp. in Sacramento, but the principal business address did not change. No public filing or company blog post discloses a second major site. What the board data does show is that every open role, from hourly warehouse associates at $25.50/hour to a salaried Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer at $125,000/year, is tagged Torrance. That concentration implies hardware test, production ramp, and defense-program work (all functions requiring physical access to boats, battery modules, and test tanks) are centralized at the Torrance/Los Angeles facility. The 150,000-square-foot footprint is roughly eighteen times the original warehouse, enough space for a low-rate initial production line, a dedicated test cell for thermal and vibration validation, and office space for the eight functional categories the company hires across.

For candidates, the takeaway is straightforward: if you join Arc today, you work in Torrance. The company's public narrative emphasizes a single, expanding campus rather than a distributed multi-site model. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not advertised on any current posting. The San Francisco address remains a mailing destination, not an engineering hub. Until Arc publishes a lease signing, a hiring event, or a blog post naming a second site, the physical reality is one large factory in the Los Angeles basin, legally domiciled in Torrance, with all hands on deck there. That density shapes who lasts.

Who lasts

Arc's public messaging and the limited employee feedback point to a specific profile: people who have built hardware in high-stakes, fast-moving environments and can operate without a mature process safety net. The company's Greenhouse description frames the team as "former rocket engineers" developing "high-performance electric boats at lightning speed." That language — rocket heritage, lightning speed — is not decorative. It signals the hiring filter.

The roles on the board reinforce it. Every salaried posting in the first-party data is a hands-on technical function: the aforementioned salaried technical roles. The hourly roles (Warehouse Associate, Production Operations Lead Technician, Quality Inspector) sit on the same factory floor. Candidates who need FAANG cash or structured leveling ladders self-select out.

Glassdoor's 24 reviews yield a 3.3/5 average, squarely in the manufacturing-industry mean. But one Glassdoor reviewer, writing in 2026, put it bluntly: "the engineering culture is strongly influenced by favoritism and in-group dynamics rather than objective technical merit. Certain backgrounds and internal relationships appear to be assumed competent by default, while others are held to a higher standard regardless of measurable results." That is a culture signal, not a compensation signal. It suggests the "rocket engineer" pedigree cited in the job description may function as an informal proxy for trust: people who share the same alumni network get the benefit of the doubt on technical judgment, while outsiders must re-prove it on every design review.

The company has not published values, interview rubrics, or a "how we work" page. The only first-party cultural artifact is the Greenhouse blurb. That absence means candidates cannot prep against a stated framework; they must infer it from the product. The Arc One — a 23-foot, 500-horsepower electric wake boat with a 226 kWh pack — is the de facto spec sheet for the team.
