Founding Ops

We're rebuilding the industrial distribution industry from the ground up, and we're looking for an early-career operator who gets things done and doesn't take "I'll get back to you" for an answer. We're scaling our industrial supply line, designed specifically for the companies that fabricate, build, and maintain America's physical infrastructure. You'll be working directly with manufacturers, mills, and machine shops on one side, and purchasing managers, shop owners, and plant operators on the other, across pipe fabrication, mechanical contracting, industrial construction, energy, and manufacturing.

The Role

This is a Founding Operations role for Westgate Supply. Sales is generating RFQs and orders faster than we can fulfill them; you're taking over everything that happens after the customer says yes and turning it into a machine.

Your job is simple but demanding: get the right part to the customer, on time, at the right price. You'll be on the phone with vendors all day, sourcing parts, chasing quotes, pushing lead times, and keeping customers informed until the order lands on their dock.

We are in-person only and full-time in San Francisco. This is your chance to be the first ops hire in a new office that we're building out from scratch.

What You'll Do

• Source parts and collect vendor quotes fast enough that we win the RFQ.
• Call, email, and call again until vendors give you a price, a lead time, and a ship date you can hold them to.
• Build and manage our vendor base: find new suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and cut the ones that miss.
• Own every order from PO to delivery, including tracking, expediting, and fixing problems before the customer finds them.
• Be the customer's point of contact after the sale, keeping them updated and turning first orders into repeat business.
• Keep POs, quotes, certs, and order records clean and accurate. One wrong digit on a part number is a wrong shipment.

What We're Looking For

• Obsessively detail-oriented. You catch the wrong thread pitch, material grade, or quantity before it ships.
• Relentless on follow-up. You're not afraid to annoy a vendor until you get what you need.
• Comfortable on the phone with blue-collar suppliers and buyers, not just executives.
• Calm under pressure when a shipment is late and a customer's job is on the line.
• Self-motivated and accountable, you don't need hand-holding.
• Excited by building something new rather than being managed at a big company.

No prior industrial or distribution experience required; we'll teach you the industry.
