Job Description

About Rulebase

AI customer operations for regulated industries. Our QA layer reviews every interaction, human and AI, cutting manual QA by 99%. On top of it sit specialist agents for onboarding, remediation, reactivation, and retention that own accounts from approved to transacting, chasing customers over WhatsApp, email, and SMS.

Our customers are fast-growing unicorns and public companies: Qonto, Rho, Kuda, Lesaka (NASDAQ), and Nala. We're backed by Y Combinator (F24), Bowery Capital, and Commerce Ventures.

The role

You are our first dedicated GTM hire. The founders built the playbook selling to Qonto, Rho, and Lesaka. It works. Your job is to run it, own the pipeline it produces, and sharpen it with every deal.

This is an execution role with real ownership, not a blank page. You close deals from day one, and you make the playbook better each quarter until it's ready to hand to reps two through five.

You report to the CEO. You work out of New York.

What you'll own

  • Pipeline. Build outbound to COOs, Chief Customer Officers, and onboarding leads. Learn which message opens which door: recovered revenue or QA cost taken to zero.
  • Full sales cycle. Source, run discovery, demo, negotiate, close. Deal sizes range from $50K to $120K+ ACV across payment processors, benefits administrators, retirement platforms, neobanks, and cross-border fintechs.
  • The wedge decision. Some accounts land on QA and expand into activation agents. Some land on activation and expand into QA. Figure out the pattern, per vertical, and codify it.
  • The playbook. Run our existing motion: sequences, qualification, objection handling, pricing. Report what breaks, fix it, and keep it documented so rep two ramps in weeks, not months.
  • Positioning feedback. You talk to more buyers than anyone. Bring that signal back into how we message, package, and price.

What you've done

  • 3+ years selling B2B SaaS to fintech, banking, or financial operations buyers
  • Closed mid-market deals ($50K+ ACV) with multi-stakeholder buying committees
  • Run a defined sales motion at an early-stage company and improved it, or been employee one through ten on a sales team
  • Written your own outbound. Run your own process. You don't need an SDR to feed you.
  • Comfortable selling ROI two ways: revenue lift (recovered accounts, faster time to transacting) and cost reduction (99% less manual QA, fewer compliance incidents)

Nice to have: you've sold into payments, banking ops, or compliance. You know what a sponsor bank is without googling it. Bonus if you've sold or evaluated AI agents and can speak credibly about hallucination risk to a compliance buyer.

Compensation

  • Base: $120K to $140K
  • OTE: $180K to $220K, uncapped
  • Equity: 0.5% to 1.0%
  • Health insurance, standard startup benefits

We weight this role toward equity and upside. If you want a big base and a small slice, this is the wrong role. If you want to own the revenue engine of a company with real customers and real traction, keep reading.

Process

  1. 30-minute call with the CEO
  2. Deep-dive on your track record and how you'd approach our ICP
  3. Working session: build a mini outbound plan for one of our verticals
  4. Meet the team
  5. Offer

We move in two weeks or less.
