Job Description
A Growth Engineer at Rove will build and scale the systems that drive user acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, data, and growth, with a focus on rapidly testing ideas, automating what works, and building personalized experiences across travel, shopping, dining, gift cards, and rewards. The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer who thinks like a growth owner and is excited to ship quickly, measure results, and improve the entire user journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test new acquisition channels, starting manually and building automation around the channels that prove effective.
- Ship experiments across the full funnel, including landing pages, signup, onboarding, referrals, lifecycle experiences, and in-product growth features.
- Build personalized offer experiences across hotels, flights, shopping, dining, gift cards, and transfer partners based on user behavior, preferences, transaction history, Rove Miles balances, and travel intent.
- Develop automated email, push notification, in-app, and other lifecycle campaigns triggered by real user actions.
- Build systems for offer targeting, ranking, recommendations, eligibility, and next-best-action experiences.
- Own growth tracking, attribution, experimentation, and reporting to determine which channels and features drive valuable users and incremental revenue.
- Build internal tools and automations, including LLM-powered workflows, that help a small team launch campaigns, create content, analyze data, and operate more efficiently.
- Partner closely with product, design, marketing, partnerships, and data teams to identify opportunities and turn them into shipped products.
- Move quickly from idea to prototype to production, then use data to decide what to scale, improve, or stop.
Tech You’ll Work With:
- TypeScript, React Native, React, and Next.js.
- Node.js backend and Postgres.
- Product analytics, attribution, and A/B testing platforms.
- Email, push notification, lifecycle messaging, and headless CMS tools.
- LLM APIs for automation, personalization, analysis, and content tooling.
Qualifications:
- Strong full-stack engineering experience and the ability to independently build and ship frontend, mobile, backend, and database features.
- Comfortable shipping production software in TypeScript.
- Experience growing a product, audience, community, marketplace, or other consumer experience.
- Strong product and growth instincts with the ability to identify opportunities without waiting for a detailed roadmap.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar products.
- Experience building products or internal tools using LLM APIs.
- Highly analytical and comfortable working with funnels, cohorts, attribution, experimentation, and user behavior data.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, marketing, partnerships, and data.
- Passion for travel, rewards, loyalty programs, and consumer products.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with personalization, recommendation systems, offer ranking, segmentation, or targeted promotions.
- Experience with travel, e-commerce, marketplaces, loyalty, rewards, affiliate platforms, dining, or card-linked offers.
- Experience building referral loops, onboarding flows, lifecycle campaigns, landing pages, or acquisition tooling.
- Experience with product analytics, experimentation platforms, marketing automation, or attribution systems.
- Experience at an early-stage startup or high-growth consumer company.
- A personal interest in points, miles, travel rewards, shopping rewards, or loyalty programs.
What This Role Is Not:
- This is not a pure engineering role where work is limited to assigned tickets.
- This is not a traditional marketing manager role focused on agencies, presentations, or campaign coordination.
- You will be expected to identify opportunities, build the solution yourself, ship it, and own the results.
