What We're Looking For
Cross River’s Commercial Banking Group (“CBG”) is looking for an SVP, Capital Markets to lead the team’s capital market efforts, developing and executing a comprehensive secondary market strategy for CBG’s diverse commercial lending portfolio. The SVP will be responsible for developing sustainable distribution channels for commercial real estate, construction, healthcare, lender finance, and SBA loan portfolios. The individual will serve as the connective tissue between origination and capital markets, partnering closely with the originators and underwriters to shape pricing, streamline processes, and develop effective hedging strategies. This role demands someone who can immediately leverage existing industry relationships to create tangible business outcomes while building long-term strategic partnerships that support CBG's growth trajectory.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Market Positioning: Develop and implement a comprehensive capital markets strategy that optimizes balance sheet efficiency, enhances liquidity management, and supports portfolio growth through scalable loan distribution frameworks
- Relationship Development & Business Development: Leverage existing network and cultivate new relationships with institutional investors, life insurance companies, pension funds, REITs, GSEs, CMBS conduits, and banks to maximize execution certainty and pricing outcomes
- Transaction Execution & Structuring: Structure and execute forward flow whole loan sales, participations, securitizations, and other capital markets transactions across multiple asset classes while partnering with originations teams to ensure marketability. The individual should have experience dealing with all transaction parties including rating agencies.
- Market Intelligence & Advisory: Monitor and analyze CRE capital markets trends, investor appetite, and pricing dynamics to provide actionable intelligence to senior leadership and originations teams
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Originations, Capital Solutions, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, and Portfolio Management to ensure seamless transaction execution and build scalable capital markets operations
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines while maintaining thorough documentation and mitigating execution risks
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate capital markets, with demonstrated success building investor relationships and executing loan sales, participations, or securitizations
- Established, active network of institutional investors, life insurance companies, CMBS conduits, banks, and other capital sources with proven ability to generate actionable deal flow
- Deep understanding of CRE fundamentals, credit analysis, loan structuring, pricing mechanics, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated success in building scalable programs and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to senior leadership and external partners
- Willingness to travel
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field preferred

Salary Range: $300,000.00 - $325,000.00
Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, based on company financial performance and individual performance.
