This role will be required to be in-person in the San Francisco office.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

Run Founder Application Campaigns

  • Develop and execute strategies to reach underrepresented and emerging founder communities.
  • Partner with the investing team to align campaign messaging with fund priorities and portfolio themes.

Content Marketing

  • Own and grow the speedrun newsletter (200K+ subscribers); write or edit every issue, keeping it genuinely useful and relevant to early-stage founders.
  • Represent speedrun by producing your own content and posts.
  • Run social across X, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, and dark social channels.
  • Surface the best of the speedrun portfolio and community through founder spotlights, cohort stories, and demo day coverage.

  • Manage the campaign calendar and own the marketing tooling stack (HubSpot, Substack, social accounts).
  • Keep reporting tight across application windows, track top-of-funnel metrics, conversion rates, and community growth.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to drive efficiency while maintaining a human-in-the-loop on all founder-facing channels.
  • Manage external agencies to support execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing, content, or growth ideally within venture, tech, or a high-growth startup.
  • Deep familiarity with the founder and startup ecosystem.
  • Strong written communication skills: you can produce and edit newsletter content that founders actually want to read.
  • Proven experience running multi-channel marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong operator: with a track record of building acquisition campaigns from scratch. You can manage a campaign calendar, own tooling, and keep reporting clean
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate with significant autonomy in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Substack, Paid social, and analytics platforms.
  • Genuine passion for early-stage founders and the pre-seed ecosystem.
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to quickly build trust with cross-functional teams and founders.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $241,000 - $281,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

About Andreessen Horowitz

Founded in 2009 by Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, Andreessen Horowitz (known as "a16z") is a venture capital firm that backs bold entrepreneurs building the future through technology. We are stage agnostic: We invest in seed to late-stage technology companies, across the consumer, enterprise, bio/healthcare, crypto, fintech and games spaces. a16z is defined by respect for the entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial company building process; we know what it’s like to be in the founder’s shoes. The firm is led by general partners, many of whom are former founders/operators, CEOs, or CTOs of successful technology companies, and who have domain expertise ranging from biology to crypto to distributed systems to security to marketplaces to financial services. We aim to connect entrepreneurs, investors, executives, engineers, academics, industry experts, and others in the technology ecosystem. We have built a network of experts including technical and executive talent; top media and marketing resources; Fortune 500/Global 2000 companies; as well as other technology decision makers, influencers, and key opinion leaders. a16z uses this network as part of our commitment to help our portfolio companies grow their business, so our operating teams provide entrepreneurs with access to expertise and insights across the entire spectrum of company building. https://a16z.com/portfolio/ https://a16z.com/podcasts/ https://a16z.com/videos/ http://a16z.com/subscribe See Disclosures: https://a16z.com/disclosures/
