
Industrial Engineering | Business Analytics internship: process improvement
Job Description
Introduction
The Global Support Center EUV at ASML supports advanced lithography systems that operate in semiconductor fabs worldwide. Within this organization, the EUV Continuous Improvement team focuses on improving how support work is performed across teams and locations. This internship contributes to that mission by bringing structure and clarity to existing ways of working. You will help document, challenge, and improve processes that support a more proactive and predictable operation. The role is based in the Netherlands and embedded in a highly international environment.
Your assignment
During this internship, you will work closely with experienced engineers and improvement leads on day-to-day process challenges. Your focus is on understanding how work is currently performed and helping define clearer, more efficient processes. You will do the detailed analysis and preparation work, while senior team members guide and review your output. Your main responsibilities will be:
Map and document existing team processes and ways of working
Analyze current workflows and identify unnecessary steps or inefficiencies
Challenge established routines and support the definition of standard processes
Support improvement initiatives with structured analysis and clear summaries
Contribute ideas for process automation and workflow optimization
Create practical process documentation and use cases for daily operations
Build basic dashboards or reports to support process visibility, when required
This is a bachelor or master internship (open to thesis students) for minimum 6 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days on-site). It is projected to start at the end of August 2026, though an earlier start from July onwards is possible.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, business analytics, operations management, or a related field
Have interest or basic experience in process mapping, continuous improvement, or lean methods
Are analytical and able to translate observations into clear process descriptions
Have basic experience with Power BI
Communicate effectively in English and collaborate well in an international setting
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be able to perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
