Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience in tax to support the tax manager with preparation of the quarterly income tax provision under ASC 740 in addition to facilitation and review of federal and state income tax returns prepared by the third-party tax provider to ensure accurate and timely compliance. The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to learn and take on a broad range of tax-related tasks to ensure the company is both in compliance and dynamic in its strategic decisions. The Tax Senior Analyst will support compliance of indirect state taxes through a series of systems and system controls that are designed to ensure accurate, timely reporting. They will monitor and learn current and impending changes to tax regulations to proactively make the appropriate updates to reporting and projections. The ideal candidate is focused in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and collaborating with the accounting team for a successful department function. The Tax Senior Analyst will need to be engrained in the accounting team for coordination and diversification of roles. The ideal Tax Senior Analyst is willing and flexible to learn the basics for the roles of other members of the team to have better knowledge of the tax compliance needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Tax Manager and Third-Party tax service provider to facilitate the preparation and review of company federal and state income tax returns on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Support analysis and processing of quarterly estimated income tax installment payments.
  • Maintain and adhere to overall tax due date calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team.
  • Support analysis and computation of tax projections, including communication with business units for consideration in financial reporting and cashflow projections.
  • Support preparation and review of partnership structure tax filing, including assisting K-1 distribution to investors.
  • In-house preparation of quarterly income tax provision in support of the Tax Manager for reporting in interim Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings.
  • Support preparation of financial reporting disclosures for regulatory and financial reports
  • Prepare technical memos to support tax positions taken by the company.
  • Comply with implemented SOX control requirements and document procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
  • In-house preparation of indirect tax returns and other business-related filings in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage and facilitate correspondence from taxing jurisdictions, including IRS/state notices and supporting audits by way of documentation, support and company responses.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the tax team to capitalize and adhere to changes to taxation legislation.
  • Provide support with various special tax related projects.
  • Support in implementing process improvement projects in company tax procedures.
  • Communication with members of the greater accounting team to achieve expanded company knowledge base, effectiveness and engagement of the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a public company tax and/or public accounting tax
  • Strong base of knowledge in corporate/partnership taxation.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
  • Flexibility to work on various on-going projects and prioritize ad-hoc requests.
  • Ability to adapt and take on new scope
  • Ability to work well independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong skills and experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an accounting discipline
  • Preferred candidates have a current CPA license
  • NetSuite proficiency is a plus

The salary range represents the base salary range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors. Those include but are not limited to location, experience, and performance.
