Major Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, CA is searching for a Chief for Customer Support for the 61 FSS (NH-0201-02, GS-05/11 equivalent). Description: Systems Base Delta 3 is offering an opportunity for a highly motivated, independent, and customer-focused leader to spearhead our high-tempo ID Card Section. In this vital role, you will be the premier point of contact and the foundational support for the first generation of U.S. Space Force Guardians. Operating at the vital intersection of security and readiness, you will manage daily operations to ensure our warfighters, civilians, and contractors are equipped with the credentials necessary to secure the space domain. This is not a standard customer service position; it is a foundational pillar of our national security apparatus. Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a candidate with skills in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness, who will serve as a technical specialist and spokesperson to further operating agency objectives on important issues. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to prepare special studies and staff reports, and demonstrate the ability to meet emergency and/or changing program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work. It is expected the candidate exhibits the ability to establish effective working relationships and to communicates well with others, orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting formal and informal briefings. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, practices, mission, and organizational structure of the specific program and or functional field to assist in supporting Air Force wide military personnel program administration responsibilities. 2. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, principles, and practices of military personnel programs. 3. Knowledge of sustainment program inspection requirements, reports, and program terms, as well as knowledge of common management principles to provide advisory services and inspect assigned programs. 4. Skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness, and in serving as a technical specialist and spokesperson to further operating agency objectives on important issues. 5. Ability to prepare special studies and staff reports, including the ability to meet emergency and/or changing program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work. 6. Ability to establish effective working relationships and to communicate well with others, orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting formal and informal briefings.
