Job Summary

Are you a forward-thinking strategist ready to shape the future of a nationwide footprint?

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Strategic Space Planner to optimize and evolve a dynamic two-million-square-foot nationwide portfolio. Spanning classified and unclassified spaces, this critical portfolio includes three main campuses: El Segundo California, Chantilly Virginia, and Colorado Springs Colorado, along with multiple leased facilities across the country.

As part of the Facilities Division, you will deliver quality leadership, agile solutions, and exceptional enterprise integrated services that enable mission success in a rapidly changing space enterprise environment. This role is built for an ambitious professional who excels in data-driven space management and possesses a true growth mindset. While your immediate mission is mastering space planning today, you will have the curiosity and opportunity to delve into real estate planning and portfolio strategy as you grow the company. This position maintains the accuracy of building, personnel, hoteling, and parking data while managing space requests, and large-scale moves. Key responsibilities include generating footprint reports for management and government agencies, developing move scenarios and test fits, and facilitating monthly senior leadership reviews to present strategic business cases and solutions.

This position requires full-time, on-site collaboration at our campus facility in El Segundo, California.

What You’ll Be Doing

·        Manage the corporate space portfolio to champion efficiency and maintain the premier, “Class A” environment our teams need for mission success.

·        Oversee the space request process by conducting site walks and creating “test fits” to help teams visualize how they can best utilize their footprint.

·        Conduct routine audits and maintain accurate space-related data, floorplans, building maps, hoteling records, and headcount reports.

·        Generate crucial footprint and space reports for internal management, external customers, and vital government agency audits.

·        Maintain corporate parking data to ensure compliance with local regulatory codes while aligning parking supply with the demands of various parking types.

·        Partner directly with users on programming exercises to determine current and future space needs, providing innovative mid- and long-term re-stack options.

·        Build compelling business cases and present creative solutions during monthly senior leadership reviews to determine strategic direction and space allocation.

·        Plan, create scenarios for, and coordinate large-scale personnel moves with a sharp focus on minimizing disruption and maximizing the employee experience.

·        Proactively resolve delays, quality issues, and obstacles associated with the space acquisition process.

·        Act as a vibrant agent of change, helping departments enthusiastically navigate new ways of working flexible space configurations.
