The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.


The Advanced Research and Engineering (AR&E) Sub-Division is seeking an innovative and proactive International Lead System Engineer (Senior Project Leader – Systems Engineering) to support customer efforts to demonstrate new system capabilities and foster collaboration not only across the enterprise, but with external international partners.  In this role, you will help to identify and strategize opportunities for collaborative research and development activities across organizations and help foster them through execution.  You will also support the development of new partnerships for R&D.


This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide technical and programmatic knowledge to customers to develop international space security cooperation partnerships for research and development systems.
  • Assist the customer in the preparation of strategic plans, program plans, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate ETG teams for technical assessments of potential R&D activities.
  • Cooperatively work across the enterprise to identify, facilitate, and develop new partnerships and R&D activities.
  • Provide mission assurance to system development efforts.
  • Provide support as needed to the various projects for test planning & execution, technology assessments for hardware and software, and demonstrations.
  • Anticipate future enterprise needs and generate new and innovative solutions.
  • Serve as the lead to the National Systems Group export related coordination across the Enterprise

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader– Systems Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s OR Advanced degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, or science field
  • 12 years of experience in space systems or ground systems development.
  • An ability think strategically and develop plans to effectively implement new strategies.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
  • An ability to adapt to fast changing environments.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
