The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.


We are looking for an Enterprise Operations Engineer (Senior Project Engineer – Systems and Operations Systems Engineering) to perform engineering and analysis to help integrate a large operational organization with a variety of missions.  This role requires partnering with the organizations in the National Systems Group and provides the opportunity to learn about different organizations and missions while contributing to the larger enterprise.


The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at a customer facility in Springfield, VA.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide technical leadership in systems engineering to support requirements gathering, concept development, and integration with acquisition and operational enterprises
  • Assemble and lead teams of engineering technical group experts to bring in capabilities and concepts to operational customers
  • Guide the systems engineering and integration functions for the customer while effectively supporting the operational needs to the acquisition programs
  • Help the customer identify and resolve enterprise issues by collaborating across organizations and with subject matter experts
  • Perform objective analysis of space and ground systems
  • Performing independent program assessments and readiness assessments to strengthen programs
  • Balance and actively contribute to multiple work assignments

 

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Senior Project Engineer - Systems and Operations Systems Engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or related technical discipline
  • 12 years or more years of collective relevant experience
  • Experience developing concepts or assessing space system requirements for an operational perspective
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices, to include system requirements, concept of operations development, risk and opportunity management, integration and verification planning and operation planning
  • Familiarity with engineering and management of systems, systems-of-systems, and enterprise-level integration
  • Ability to successfully present technical material to senior DoW and other US government leaders
  • Proven ability to be flexible, adaptable; able to handle and perform multiple simultaneous tasks in a multifaceted environment
  • Experience leading and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Willing to travel domestically less than 10% of time, if required. 
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

 

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advanced degree from an accredited program in an applicable field
  • Experience with Government or commercial space operations
  • Experience applying digital engineering to an acquisition program or operational processes
  • Experience with modern software development methodologies, rapid prototyping / fielding
  • DAWIA Engineering and Technical Management Certification or other relevant certification
