Halifax, NS (Halifax locations and New Brunswick - Hybrid position) Full-time
Position Summary
We have a current vacancy for a Regional Site Manager to join our Team in Halifax, NS. The Regional Site Manager is responsible for the overall operational management of the Thales sites within the region, including Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Facilities Management, and Physical Security. This role ensures compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and provides a safe, secure, and productive workplace for all employees and visitors.
The role works directly with the Functional Managers to ensure that regional demands are adequately met and oversees the day-to-day delivery of operations within the region including defining the priorities, coordinating the on-site support of the operations functions and liaising with program stakeholders.
Essential Functions
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Lead and implement Thales HSE policies, programs, and culture across the regional sites.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations and Thales Group HSE standards.
• Oversee training programs, emergency response plans, and drills.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental sustainability.
• Chair local HSE committees and maintain documentation/reporting.
Facilities Management
• Oversee day to day operations of the building, infrastructure, utilities, and equipment.
• Plan and coordinate site upgrades, renovations, and capital projects.
• Define budgets for regional facilities and liaise with budget owners to ensure requirements are captured at either the business or program level
• Support space planning, potential office moves, workplace optimization, and asset management.
Security Management
• Implement and enforce Thales Group Security policies and procedures.
• Manage physical security programs, including access control, CCTV, alarms, and perimeter protection.
• Conduct security risk assessments and support compliance with government and corporate requirements.
• Manage visitor access, identification badge systems, and security awareness initiatives.
• Support crisis management, business continuity, and incident response activities
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, building management, and regulatory agencies.
• Partner with HR, IT, Operations, and Corporate Real Estate to ensure seamless site operations.
• Lead site committees (HSE, Security, Facilities).
• Support internal communication and change management initiatives.
• Build a strong culture of safety, security, and operational excellence at the site
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Security Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in facilities management, HSE, security, or site operations (preferably in industrial, defence, or high security environments).
• Knowledge of local HSE regulations, building codes, and security standards.
• Experience managing vendors and contractors
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in aerospace, defence, or high-tech manufacturing sectors
• Familiar with the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, etc.)
• Language: English (Essential)
Physical Demands
• Predominantly office work but may occasionally be required to work in dockyards and onboard Naval ships
Special Position Requirements
• Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 138,000.00 – 172,500.00 CAD Annual.
This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
